He broke his hand fighting Stiverne. Didn't have surgery, and he was fighting six months later. This time, on the video taken after the fight, you can see a pin bulging out the back of his swollen hand. So obviously they have to do surgery on that as well as the torn bicep. If he returns in March, that means he'll start training in December or January - five or six months from now. Sounds about right. By comparison, Tyson Fury will be out a year ... and he just twisted his ankle.
Anything to protect his fragile glass jaw. The only time he ever fought someone with a glass jaw that was actually worse than his own was when he fought Zelenoff.
So you're advising him not to have surgery to repair his torn bicep and his broken hand with the broken pin bulging out? In the Vazquez is going to have his eye removed thread, you're saying there's no shame in quitting if you're getting beaten ... and boxing will only be fought in third world countries because no elite athletes will want to participate ... And on this thread you're ripping Wilder for having surgery to repair injuries that require surgery?:deal
What are you talking about? The guy has a torn bicep and a broken hand with a broken pin bulging out ... and you make some snide comment "ANYTHING to protect his glass jaw." Are you saying he's a coward for not fighting again right away and choosing surgery instead? Are you saying having surgery is an excuse? That snide comment sure sounds like that's what you're saying. Because, in other threads, you talk about how barbaric boxing is and feel it will disappear because elite athletes won't want to participate and get hurt ... and you're saying there's no harm in quitting if you're injured ... And in this thread you're bashing Wilder for getting surgery to repair injuries that require surgery ... AFTER he stuck it out and won a fight with injuries that required surgery. Talk about being a hypocrite.
When was the last time you saw a fighter with a torn bicep AND a broken hand win a fight by stoppage? Ever? Seriously. Name a couple? Can you think of even one? Once before, maybe? Why don't you run down the list of all the times that has happened when someone suffering from BOTH of those injuries not only continued, and not only won, but won by STOPPAGE? Better yet, bump this thread next time you see a fighter suffering from a torn bicep and a broken hand win a fight by stoppage. And we'll see how common it is. You guys are so blind in your hatred you are missing what's going on around you ... and you sound like morons when you do it. Some day, a new fan will ask you guys what you were thinking YEARS AGO when Wilder, with a torn bicep and a broken hand, defended his title by TKO. And you'll lie and say how great it was ... when in reality you were bashing him.
The bums at the bridge near the highway just cracked a fresh bottle of ripple and are roasting corn on the cob as we speak. With Wilder out of action for so long they know they are safe :thumbsup
