Agreed. Washington would be acceptable though. Kind of speaks volumes when a mediocre and largely unproven fighter like Washington is considered a very good choice opponent for someone who's held a major world title for 2 years... I'll take it though, better than Wawrzyk.

Meaning, for the most part that's the way the sport is now. Most fighters look to fight people they know they can beat. Mayweather said it best when he said why should he fight someone who can give him a challenge when he can fight a bum for just as much money.

It's not just Wilder who tries to get away with fighting nothing but fringe contenders.
