    Source ******

Wilder who was ringside for Danny Garcia vs Paulie Malinaggi last Saturday night, commented:

“I don’t fear anyone. When I became WBC world champion I promised to be an active champion. I don’t want to fight only for money. I want to fight against those who are willing to take my belt from me. I want real challenges. The only thing I can do is to keep training."

“The official contender is Alexander Povetkin and this fight is already in negotiations. I don’t believe he will be my next opponent, but I am willing to have that fight soon. That fight has to happen."

    Soon boxing fans soon !!:bbb

Wilder needs big payday if it happens. Povetkin is russian monster who'd shatter Wilders glass jaw by one overhand right.

How much step aside $$$ can Povetkin make until they fight??:huh
Viktor Postol ate good and he's not a Haymon fighter. Al Reagan has that trickle down wealth effect on fighters.

As long as we get an undisputed champ I don't care when theynfightnas long as they do ..But don't be surprised if Wlad some how ends up retiring as undisputed champ.. There is so many good fights that could be made at hw..I hope Jennings and Joshua get it on soon as well or get in the mix ..

Eric Molina and likely Andrey Wawrzyk are his first two defenses. If the latter fight happens Deontay should be ashamed and should just be silent until he loses the belt.

Why is the WBC giving Wilder a pass on facing Povetkin, or even entertaining the idea of Wilder paying step aside money???

A look back at the last recent WBC HW champs,

Maskaev - Got one voluntary, then had to face Peter (WBC rejected allowing Peter step aside money so Oleg could fight Vitali)
Peter - Had to face mandatory challenger Vitali in 1st defense.
    V. Klitschko - Had to face mandatory J.C Gomez in 1st defense. (WBC rejected a voluntary defense)
Stiverne - Had to face mandatory Wilder in 1st defense.

Wilder has no business getting 1 or more voluntaries against no-hopers when Povetkin is waiting for his shot.

Joshua will try and do a wilder , fight b class guys and ride the hype to a title fight , cant see him taking on challangers to prove him self , thats the old way , new way is to KO cans to build your name up until you get your shot. hearns wont risk him before a title fight - same as wilder.

I don't think Wilder would avoid Povetkin himself, but not sure about his team. Wawrzyk? Really? Why not match him with Takam who's similar to Sasha in boxing terms with less power and slightly less skills unless they think it's too risky?

Not only was Stiverne rejected a voluntary but was actually forced to fight two mandos back to back against Americans Wilder and Jennings. Something that is unheard of in the sport.
