Sorry, you're correct. I was under the impression that the Szpilka fight was after the Povetkin fallout.
Front squats and sprints would do Wilder wonders. I reckon he would become a deadly puncher if he bulked up his legs and would have better chin resistance.
It’s cool it was a the fight before, I don’t suspect wilder. If he suddenly was to stop VADA testing now for no good reason it would be very fishy and I would be looking as to why this is. If he goes to 245 with no VADA testing that’s damn near a guilty admission of using PEDs to me.
I can fluctuate in weight more than Wilder and I'm around 6'1. His maximum weight is still very low for a man of his height and frame.
I wouldn't be shocked at all if he was, but I'm less sure about him than Joshua, or Fury. Even with PEDs, putting on 30Ibs for his next fight would make him a bloated mess. 225 wouls be more sensible to aim for.
He probably is on steroids, but that's because he's a top boxer fighting in an almost unregulated sport under one of the most powerful and corrupt promotors in the game as representative of one of the most corrupt sanctioning bodies in the world who stands to make everyone around him rich so long as he keeps winning (or being prevented from losing). He's also a man who's shown he doesn't give a toss about his opponents' health and actively wants a dead body on his record, who's repeatedly hit opponents with rabbit punches and while they're on the ground, who has no qualms in beating up on mentally disturbed internet trolls half his size and having people film it, and who can come up with the most staggering nonsense simply to justify a certain (imaginary) result to suit his narrative. Given all that, why the hell wouldn't he take steroids? In Wilder's mind he could probably convince himself that he wasn't even cheating. The moral implications of the act wouldn't even cross his mind, I'd think.
Of course he was. That is why he had that trick of not allowing his opponents a full camp. It gave him time to cycle of the roids. Also, why the weight plunge, even if he was never 250. Now that he knows that he struggled with even medically challenged fighters without them, he will risk it and get back on them. That is why he is talking about gaining so much weight for the rematch. That is what he means. He thinks its that easy because he has had his ass pumped with steroids before.
Only proven ped cheat in top 3 is fury and it barely gets mentioned. we shouldn't even be able to speculate on who is /isn't on peds, the governing bodies/commissions should have got their sheet together by now, it will change but it's guna take a ped cheat seriously injuring/killing someone first, sad but true.
He's just not eating enough. it's simple as that. He needs to be consuming easily 1000 or 2000 calories more than he is during his peak S&C training. Then lean out slightly in the final few weeks. Dropping below 210 should be a big red flag for his team, he mentioned he wants to increase his weight. If he comes below 215 next time out i'll call PEDS also. There is no fat on that man and ALL of his muscle mass is in his back and torso. Normally when you're going over 30 years old like Wikler keeping the weight off is harder.
Yes, that was suspicious. I always assumed it was because they wanted his opponents to be as underprepared as possible, but after Szpilka spilled the beans on the lack of any random drug testing (something Wilder and his crew wanted to make a big song and dance about) I began to smell a rat. Whatever the case, there's definitely something weird going on in Wilder's camp of late.
