Stiverne is a better win than any win Tate had. Spilzka, Duhaupas and Scott are above anyone but maybe Coetzee, Mercado and Bobick, and are on par with them. Povetkin would be on another planet resume wise from Tate. But, whatever, if you're that dedicated to being irrational about it, I won't be convincing you otherwise.
I'm split personally. On the one hand Wilder is an overachiever. Being as lacking as his is in every single boxing department, aside from power, he managed to avoid mandatories while coming from behind in nearly every single fight to win against B and C level competition. Kudos to him on that. However that is not greatness. When people speak of greatness the goal posts tend to shift a lot and poorly beating guys who you are supposed to beat means less and less. True greatness is testing yourself against the best while they are at their best. Wilder... not even close.
This kind of makes me long for Tyson-Wilder IV. Let's make it happen, folks! If enough people call for it.. "One more time! One more time! One more time!" C'mon, Wilder homies.. lets drum it up! Together we can do this!
Fury didn't even want #3. Fury fans didn't really want #3 (they wanted AJ). Neutrals didn't really want #3. #4 won't happen - Fury doesn't want it, it's unlikely to sell great at this point... I'm not even sure Wilder would want it - he got whooped by an unfit Fury, why would he want another guaranteed beatdown?
Remember when Wilder was on the way up? It was so exciting then. Not like now. Which heavyweights in their 20s are future greats? Nobody knows. So let's bump old Wilder threads.
