One of the most skillful heavyweights of all time? . He got decked hard by 2 feather fisted cruiserweights thus changed his style to that of a runner, and has never stopped a ranked heavyweight. Wilders fighting him again because he has soft hands and a soft chin, and he still lost after Fury had been on the couch for 3 years. They are fighting each other because they are both petrified of being retired by AJ. Joshua KOs both these turkeys inside 3 rounds. Im still not convinced either of these guys are even on Whyte or Millers level.
You've said 'decent split' and 'fair deal' which both sound reasonable but which are very subjective terms. Different people will make different claims as to what constitutes each? It's also easy to reframe the question to put the onus on the other party: 'Whyte is getting a shot at being the unified champion which would up his earning power by a factor of ten! He should be paying AJ...' 'If Wilder really wanted the belts he wouldn't have spent three years fighting cherry picked second raters. Now he demands parity with the guy that took the risks, unified the titles and is bringing most of the money and three times as many titles to the table?' However we've done this discussion to death. Sooner or later a deal will be put on the table that suits all parties and arrives at the right time for each. At that point a fight can happen. Till then it's all a bit ... This content is protected
I can't wait for Wilder to get beaten by Fury and then he suddenly realizes that an AJ fight (and huge payday) is gone forever. I want to see his face when he stutters his excuses.
Fleecing how? How come none of these fighters are making the money they are demanding from Joshua or even close to it? How can they make so much less off their own backs yet when offered so much more its fleecing them?
Was floyd ever accused of pricing himself out of fights? It’s a matter of risk vs reward. Guys would earn a ton of money to get their ears boxed off by floyd, but wouldn’t get beat up/KO’d. These guys want to get a payday of a lifetime because the likelihood is that they’ll get a beating. AJ is by far the biggest draw in the division atm and is the A-side against anyone
The heavyweight division is full of babies crying because AJ isn’t giving them enough sweets, cowards. I believe fury would take the fight but his team are coming out with nonsense.
Out of interest has anybody a copy of this $50 million contract.. I would like to look at the fine print to see if what sort of clauses it had in it..
I asked the same question and I was told by a Wilder fan that "A MAN" saw it. A man close to Al Haymon or Finkel. Thats the only talk of its existence and this man has no name, Nobody knows who this man is and this man has never come forward to say "yes the contract exists". I do know Eddie Hearn never got to see it or Anthony Joshua. Finkel refused to show it to them and Finkel refused to discuss it with them but expected them to agree to it.
Yes he was he was accused of ducking Manny Pacquiao for years. He had issues fighting prime Oscar De La Hoya and wanted no part of Margarito. Manny Pacquiao even rejected numerous offers from Floyd because they undervalued his worth as a fighter. AJ isn't even on Floyd's level when it comes to earning power and level of opposition, so it's really stupid to even compare the situation. Outside of the 40 year old Klitschko, AJ has beaten no one of note and is a paper champion. Other champions do not bow down to any demand just because they want to make a fight. No champion in that I can remember every accepted a flat fee no less concede a contract with no rematch clause and enjoy being messed around with dates and venues.
Groundhog day on here "Wilder is ducking AJ" "AJ is ducking Wilder" "No, the Wilder deal is fake" "AJ is low balling Wilder" Repeat "Wilder is ducking AJ" "AJ is ducking Wilder" "No, the Wilder deal is fake" "AJ is low balling Wilder" Repeat every day for the rest of our lives.
Pricing himself out? Matchroom have offered these fighters career high pay days and the chance to win 3 world titles and be the the number 1 HW. They just don't want to fight AJ.
Thats all nice but Stephanie here expected Joshua to take a contract that not only did not come with a date or a venue but didnt even come with a contract, so not 1 single term or condition, nothing what so ever. But then when it all started leaking out from Wilders side about what Joshua was going to be expected to do it didnt really matter anyway, it wasnt a real offer. They held all the information back because had we all known that information we all would of laughed off the offer immediately. But they kept everybody in the dark so they could push the JOSUHA IS DUCKING narrative, ducking a contract he cant sign cuz hes signed up to SKY SPORTS and the fact there wasnt a dotted line to sign on cuz a contract didnt even exist.
lol Mayweather accepted the lesser split vs DLH as guess what the opportunity was given to him to beat DLH and then become the A side and the biggest fighter in the sport. Mayweather didnt demand 50/50 vs DLH as certainly didnt deserve 50/50 as he was quite clearly the B side and Oscar was the biggest fighter in the sport at the time. The De La Hoya-Mayweather fight set the record for most PPV buys for a boxing match with 2.4 million households, beating the previous record of 1.99 million for Evander Holyfield-Mike Tyson II. Around $136 million in revenue was generated by the PPV. Until, it was surpassed in 2015 by Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, which generated more than 400 million dollars from 4.6 million households in PPV buys. Becoming the most lucrative fight in history and one of the most lucrative sport events of all time. Factoring in the percentages, Oscar De La Hoya ended up earning $52 million, the highest purse ever for a fighter. The previous record was $35 million, held by Tyson and Holyfield. Floyd Mayweather earned $25 million for the fight.[4][5] Just so you can clearly understand the above. Mayweather earned less than half of what DLH did for their record breaking fight!!!
Everybody saw the contract apart from the most important people. Hearn and AJ. That's how laughable that offer was.
De La Hoya was well past his prime at that point which is why Floyd had no issue fighting him and still he only beat Oscar by a point. Prior to that Mayweather didn't want to know about Oscar. So what's your view on Pacquiao rejecting 40 million? Is he a coward for demanding a percentage from the ppv? ''He said he will guarantee me $40 million but I won’t have any share on the pay-per-view and other sources of revenue. How can he leave me out of the pay-per-view when I generate more than him in pay-per-view sales? I am still praying that Mayweather gets enlightened because I believe that I am not being unreasonable.”
