I don’t want no fan boy answers here. Why would Deontay fight Breazale over Whyte?! Eddie is offering £4/5mil. The Breazale fight brings in $1.5/2 at best. Why is he so scared of Whyte????!!!
Wilder and Haymon are afraid of Whyte as Whyte is a threat and is NOT controlled by Haymon. Breazeale is owned by Haymon, will take a dive if needed, was easily knocked out by Joshua, so zero threat..................Wilder will continue to fight winos from the alley....................rather than fight anyone who is a threat, we will not see Wilder fight Joshua..............
It's a question worth asking as I think they're both the same level of fighter. In fact, a fight between those two would be great fun. Whyte looks like he's fighting Pulev next anyway, so perhaps that's part of it. Wilder's argument is that he refuses to fight Whyte unless it absolutely promises the AJ fight (which seeing as they're in discussions now seems superfluous anyway) and he doesn't want to earn Hearn any extra money. Which I can get on board with
I think it's mostly over having control over the fight. If he fights Whyte then Hearn calls the shots, the fight would probably take place in the UK with home advantage for Whyte which is a huge deal in boxing. Fighting Whyte made a lot more sense the first time the option came to the table, but now Wilder has a lot more to lose.
So he's cutting Hearn's nose to spite his own face? I'd laugh as I took Hearn's money for bashing up Whyte if I were him - a bit like Linares did with Crolla... twice. I really don't get him not wanting a bumper payday to beat Whyte. It genuinely seems he doesn't want to deal with Dillian's animated build up.
Dillian's build up isn't even that animated; he isn't Chisora. More to the point, I should re-word what I meant. I suspect Haymon more specifically doesn't want him fighting in the UK unless it's against AJ. Someone mentioned above, it's a control thing.
Well if that's the case Deontay should take one look at Quillin and think **** it, Al can swivel i'm going where the money is whilst it's there.
For the record I have no doubt that Wilder absolutely ends Whyte - which makes it even more confusing.
Cause if he loses to Whyte he misses out on the chance to fight AJ. Simple. He doesn't see the threat in Breazale.
Dominic Breazeale - Low - Medium Risk ($1,400,000) WBC Heavyweight Championship Dillian Whyte - High Risk £4,500,000 ($6,000,000-$7,000,000) WBC Heavyweight Championship Anthony Joshua - High Risk £12,000,000 ($17,000,000) WBA WBC IBF IBO WBO Heavyweight Championships Now weigh up each of them fights. All of them offers are there 100% on the table, Deontay just has too pick one. Now lets go over what Deontay has claimed in the past. I want Joshua, ill fight him in England or the US, there has to be one Champion lets make it happen. I will fight Whyte if Joshua is on the contract, (Eddie Hearn has agreed to this verbally on camera but said he cant agree to it till Wilders team actually makes a physical contract and sends the offer.) Now, Dominic Breazeale is not officially the Mandatory Challenger, its also very likely that Dillian Whyte might get the Mandatory which means you can half the current offer Hearn has made financially. Would it not make sense based on the facts above to do the following. Anthony Joshua vs Jarrell Miller Deontay Wilder vs Dillian Whyte Both headlining a US card in August. Both become victorious and face off in the ring with all the belts. You can also expect that $17,000.000 to be roughly $25,000,000 after a big show in the US like that one. Common sense would suggest he takes the Whyte fight and then Joshua, in that order, before 2019. He becomes a very very rich man who will probably have made roughly $40,000,000 career earnings. Any other reason not to do that is simply on Deontay Wilder and his team not fancying it.
@Dagnaldinho I doubt it that Whyte is a high risk for Wilder... Yes it is a bigger risk than Breazeale but more money are on the stack. You are absolutely right about the common sense! The best way is to fight Whyte and beat him, then face Joshua. There is even a chance for Wilder to almost get his demands for a 50/50 fight if he gets a spectacular KO against Whyte.
