Seriously it is such a long shot but let's hope stieverne clocks wilder and there is no rematch clause.

Yes, Wilder signed both times and in neither case was the cancellation his fault. But there was a shift in his mentality between the Povetkin and Ortiz fights which I think was due to the emergence of Joshua.

    - Povetkin: Wilder wasn't keen on the fight, especially as it was in Russia. But he didn't want to lose his title and hence was prepared to fight.
    - Ortiz: Wilder was keen, he paid Stiverne a very large step-aside fee ($675k was what I heard).

I would not be surprised if he fights Whyte on that card or on the Oct 28 card instead, there are strong rumours going about.

Remember when Stiverne tested positive for methylhexaneamine and WBC said "fight is on, it was just energy drink" ? They also said it was "accidental" :sisi1

The WBC said in its report that it will still sanction the bout for the interim title because Stiverne has never had a positive test in the past and "there is no evidence that Stiverne intentionally or even knowingly ingested a banned substance with the purpose of enhancing his performance in any fashion. Stiverne's ingestion of DMAA was purely accidental."

Methylhexaneamine is the same stuff that was used by the Jamaican runner Nesta Carter, who has been stripped of his gold medal from Beijing 2008...

Its despicable that Stiverne is mandatory- hypocrisy from the WBC on the highest level. Wouldn't surprise me at all if this didn't go back to King pulling strings to get Stiverne a rematch while successfully avoiding Povetkin and Ortiz.

I hope Deontay ices him like he did to Szpilka and knocks his dreads into some fans beer in the 5th row.

    Yes

Joshua easily has the best claim to being “the man”, and Parker is second.

Parker needs to start going to every Wilder appearance and start aggressively calling him out, Shannon Briggs-style !!!!

That would be a good fight. Both really tough cookies, could see a bit of a war there.

Knew it was coming and Stiverne has no business in any organisations top 10.

Joke of a fight, Wilder won't fight Povetkin due to him testing positive (sp though it was still in legal amount limit), then signed to fight a steroid cheat who in turn failed due to blood pressure pills and the WBC has stuck their corrupt beak in to then make him face another fighter who has pissed dirty.

Wilder's reign and the WBC are a circus.

    Agreed.

The other possibility for Breazeale is Babyface Adam Kownacki. That would be a good fight too.

This. Stiverne hasn't been in the ring for 2 years. I like Stiverne, but he's old and completely in active and I doubt he's even shape. At least Wlad showed up in great shape against Joshua despite being old and in active.

It won't look good for Wilder if he doesn't get the stoppage on Stiverne, who hasn't fought in 2 years.

Even if we completely ignore that (which we shouldn't), this guy gets a mandatory shot when his only win in 2 years was going life and death with Rossy in a fight he got floored in and was lucky to win.

    Ridiculous.
