1st real test for Wilder, gotta give him respect for taking this and if he comes through this one then he has to be considered a definite threat to anyone. But...will he come through or is this that banana skin that folks have been predicting for ages..??? Cast your votes kids!
Nah. King Kong will show up to fight guaranteed. Also don't think Wilder will be able to pot shot Ortiz for 12 rounds, eventually he'd make a mistake and get caught. This one is either kill or be killed.
Wilder will undoubtably try to use his superior mobility and attempt to box Ortiz from range but he just doesn't have the fundamentals to stay out of harms way. Ortiz will look to capitalize on Wilder's defensive lapses, Wilder can get away with backing up in straight lines with his arms up in the air vs bums but not against a slick, well-schooled counterpuncher like Ortiz.
Let's hope so, but if Scott could do it so can Wilder, although he'd need some serious hometown cooking to get a decision that way. Barclay's is a PBC den, their home arena, anything can happen.
