Buzzing for this now. Smith/Ryder whet the appetite. Thankfully I don't think we'll need the cards for Wilder/Ortiz. Someone is getting sparked!
Come on Ortiz. It was a great fight last time. Got to drive my brother in law to Manchester airport at 3! Pissed off but the one bonus is I’ll be back for this.
Watching the first fight again on sky action here now. Wilder actually has a serious chin. He was out on his feet taking huge clean shots and remained upright. Then he comes back with the KO. The man is a beast! Ballsy to fight Ortiz again.
Woke up and read the post fight reaction where it appeared that Ortiz boxed his head off before he got zapped. Just watched the fight and Ortiz is now an old old man. No real threat and reliant on those little steps and a double jab. Compare him with the physicality he showed in the first fight and he has clearly declined.
The Sky commentary team had him down as Prime Ali with his movement, skills and ring craft winning every round by a mile. Adam Smith would have followed through if Ortiz landed any huge punches. Ortiz was winning the fight but it really was not much better than Fury v Wlad
Yeah, Smith was going bananas and I was watching the fight on my daft phone and wondering what they were looking at. Who was the other fella commentating? He must have mentioned Ortiz's boxing IQ and ring generalship about 20 times and I'm seeing this old man lumbering around with his pitter patter jab and two step and then bosh it's game over.
Man I have just listened to the commentary in round 7 where Macklin states that 'it is very unlikely that Wilder will hit him with a single shot' and 'Ortiz will see it coming' etc Seconds later bang These stale scripts and commentators really need to go.
Adam Smith anticipating an Ortiz win roars loud 'What a 2019 we are having in heavyweight boxthing' - literally 1 second before Wilder flattens him. Both of them could not read a book never mind the progress of a fight.
Smith and Macklin spend the full 7 rounds explaining how Wilder is shyte then both have an OTT tommy tank when the punch lands.
Indeed. Ortiz will see it coming .Couldn't believe that line. It's like those idiots didn't watch the first fight and are completely unaware that Wilder only needs one shot. Everyone else in the world watching that was just waiting for the moment Wilder detonates one off on him.
Wilder actually impressed me with how assured he was. Lost every round obviously but never panicked at any stage and just let the old man tire himself out and picked the perfect punch out.
