Keep in mind, 70% voted Stiverne would beat Wilder and he won almost every round. This forum is not objective when it comes to Wilder, practically blinded. Hard to say exactly how the fight will play out. It depends on if Povektin wants to die quickly rushing (russianing) him, or die slowly hoping to get to a decision. I think he isn't stupid, and will choose the die slowly option. The problem is that he may believe he can get Wilder out of there in one shot, when it would take combinations at best. So if he hits Wilder and he takes it, then what. Wilder has many ways to win, but his best bet is to not respect him too much and make Povetkin feel his power early and often. I expect Povetkin to be determined and will take hellacious punishment before he finally gets KO'd. How the fight goes will be determined early, If Wilder is landing early then he has it in the bag. If Povetkin is getting inside and making Wilder get on the defensive (fans were scoring shots off of Wilder's shoulders and his body language against Szpilka) then a decision win is a possibility. Wilder should not leave anything to chance, make sure to get in work early and hurt his opponent in every round. Wilder KO 9 (because Povetkin likely will have a decent gameplan built off of others).
The location won't matter. Wilder by KO ... it could come at any time. Povetkin will get some shots in. He always does. But Wilder is going to hammer Povetkin with those right hands from the outside. Povetkin got battered by Wlad, and Klitschko doesn't throw nearly the power shots Wilder does. Povetkin's going to be shell-shocked. The only way Povetkin survives is if Wilder breaks his hand bouncing right hands off his skull - like he did against Stiverne. Otherwise, Alexander won't see the final bell. BRING ON THE FIGHT!!! This is going to be great.
If Wilder uses the same game plan as he did against Stiverne then it should be an easy win. Not sure how the smaller HWs can compete against these big guys. Just the jab on it's own is a nightmare for the smaller man.
I called the stiverne fight 50-50 and even said i favoured wilder for that one stiverne is a bum compared to povetkin
I look at Wilder from different perspectives. 1. Personaly I want Povetkin to end him - because i'm a Wilder-hater. 2. I want boxing to be more popular. 3. US is a big market. 4. Casuals follows heavyweigth. 5. American heavyweigt sucks for the most. 6. Wilder could be the american flagship for american casuals. 7. A stronger boxing market in US would also boost other markets. 8. Boxing would become more popular. 9. I still want Povetkin to smash in his head... 10. So Martin might become the next big american thing instead?
Good thing Povetkin isn't Stiverne..... The guy who was stopped by journeyman King, went life and death with a shot 40+ year old Ray Austin, and was knocked down and according to some was lucky to win a decision against Rossy.
I'm leaning toward Povetkin because he has the chin to withstand the early punishment and take Wilder to the later rounds, in which he'll pressure and pour it on Wilder on the inside. But Wilder has a puncher's chance against anyone. Great fight.
your heavyweights will leave you down in the prediction league cst, joshua chageav and povetkin will all win:good
