I think the winner was the guy who DIDN'T have to pay $7 million to either guy ... and will still get to televise the fight in the U.S. like he had paid them.

For the answer: see ... Al Haymon.

    :good

Ryabinsky asked on Twitter where everyone wants this fight and Russian fans told him Chelyabinsk or Grozny :rofl:rofl

Well we know the winner isn't Wilder who will likely have to face the challenger in his backyard in a hostile enviornment for a purse much lower than many had anticipated.

actually haymon will have to purchase the tv rights to this fight off the russians, it will be a bidding war between haymon and anyone else who wants to put it on, povetkins team might not even deal with him

You face is covered with lashings of Haymon and Wilder's sperm and I don't take anything you say seriously. Your burps will still reek of their AIDS goo in 50 years from now. Now scram, tranny. :good

Televised in the US at 8am in the morning EST

The Russians will probably set the TV license fee to the US at cost equal to 30% of Wilder's projected purse just as an added middle finger.

    Yeah... winning....

Wilder is going to make his career-high purse to fight a 36-year-old mandatory ... in May. And after that, Wilder will be defending his title in the September in the U.S. ... and possibly again in December. (He wants to defend four times this year.)

You guys have been reading this entirely the wrong way. You're viewing it as Wilder's cashout fight. And his career will be over after this.

Wilder and his team are viewing it as Tyson fighting a Pinklon Thomas. It's just a "name" mandatory defense on his way to much bigger fights down the road.

Povetkin was already the WBA REGULAR champ. His WBA REGULAR BELT reign was totally forgettable.

Povetkin's just a guy Wilder has to take care of before the MEGA fights coming in a year or so against Joshua and Fury.

And Wilder is just going to take care of him in May, pocket $5 million-plus (to go along with the $1.5 million he made in January) and get ready for his next fight in September.

    :good

 Um. I think you need to learn a little about time zones.

Chagaev-Browne are fighting in Grosny tomorrow night. Grozny is eight hours ahead of the east coast of the U.S. A fight that would start at 10 p.m. in Grosny would air at 2 p.m. in the U.S.

    Why would he vacate?

I never met a bunch of cowards in my life as you guys. Wilder's a prizefighter. He's making his career-high payday against an old mandatory. He isn't vacating anything.

If anyone walks, it'll be the guy who walked out after a purse bid once before - Povetkin.
