My grandma has a Duhaupas poster.

I asked if she might want a Povetkin tea cozy to go with it, and she had no idea what I was talking about. You may be on to something here.

You have been defending Wilder for months on here and I must say out of all the Wilder fans you are the most reasonable. I respect that. You root for the guy but you don't put blinders on when it's obvious some things don't go his way.

Thanks I think, lol. I don't really understand why people dislike him so much. Sure, his resume isn't all that great but neither was George Foreman's before he fought Joe Frazier.

I mean he's got punching power, athleticism, seems like a decent guy, and hell I'm starved for a good American champ.

I mean, Povetkin is a tough and dangerous fighter sure, but I don't understand the love affair. He has the personality of a sloth and really didn't fare well in his only outing with a great fighter.

I guess people have just given up on American fighters.

They might well stand to make more money from the event, but you're being quick to dismiss what I believe was an astute observation from Dubblechin regarding the fact he can still make a great deal of money off this without having needed to make a sizable initial investment of $8 million.

Let's see, his promoter didn't back him hard enough, he has to fight his mando at last, he'll have to go to Russia, Povetkin will get a full camp.....oh it goes on

    :huh

Hasn't Wilder said all along he's wanted to face Povetkin? And hasn't he also previously expressed interest in fighting Povetkin in Russia?

It doesn't matter where the fight is, Povetkin is going to get knocked out anyway. But the Russians always want **** in their favor just to attempt to cheat. They've been ****en cheats for years and everyone in boxing knows it.

Of course he has and they know it. Certain people like believing that Haymon fighters are ducking everyone, even when they sign to fight them.:patsch

I completely expect Wilder to pull out to injury, if I'm wrong I'll own it.

    :good

It's interesting. You're suspecting Wilder will get out of the fight. Dubblechin is suspecting Povetkin of the same.

    :think

I think it will happen. I don't think either of them is especially good, and I can see either man stopping the other.

Why do you people keep saying that? How many champs lost their titles in Russia via robbery?

Anyway, I think you're wrong here. Wilder has to fight just as disciplined as he did against Stiverne. He has to make very good use of his jab, keep Sasha at bay, try to get him frustrated look for an oppurtunity to catch him reckless with the right hand.

Last thing he'll want is to stand right in front of Sasha and exchange as Povetkin is the one with better punching technique, better punch variatoin, is much more experienced brawler and probably the more durable one.
