LOL Well he got thrown under the bus by his own promoter; he probably doesn't really feel A-Side'ish today!

if i want to watch someone for personality, i'll watch an actor, comedian, etc. someone whose job is to have personality. i don't care what an athlete makes, who they bang, who their friends are. i don't give a **** about their personal lives. once the sporting event is over, my interest in them is over.

If Wilder somehow ducks the fight he's going to lose any of the cred. he may have. And surely his belt ... so he'll just be some novelty interest, looking to work that into something like Haye is ATM.

If the fight does go ahead, then this is sort of great. It's all-good on both sides. However Wilder got to this fight is in the background ... he has this fight to define himself, Povetkin too looking for an elusive belt.

If Wilder wins it or even puts in a sound effort against a genuine top world class opponent, then respect to him.

Rather than reading too much ****ysis - I'm just looking forward to watching the fight and seeing what happens on the night.

That's making the best of a poor situation. Promoters don't go out of their way to lose bids. I don't remember Don't King letting Tyson fights go to other promoters. Bottom line is this- Wilder doesn't draw. Haymon has tried several times to promote him and his numbers are very poor in ratings. And they were/are trending downward. Therefore Haymon went cheap and didn't back him this time out. Hoping big money would come from the Russians. But the Russians put out a very reasonable Bid. To try and make this some shrewd move by Haymon is pure spin. If Wilder could draw Haymon would of ponied up the money to win the bid instead he left his guy out to dry.

Look at most Fury threads....there's more comments about his "personality" than his boxing abilities...

Dibella “We’re very happy to fight for 70 percent of 7.15 million on our side,” DiBella told ESPN.com. “There was never any chance that Deontay was going to vacate his title. The fight is happening. If they put the fight in Russia, then I hope [Russian President Vladimir] Putin can personally attend so he can watch ‘Sasha’ get knocked out.”

Oh but he's lying, Deontay is lying. ****ing morons.

So you're saying that fighters should be judged on personality, not on what they do in the ring?

It looks like Povetkin's promoter got very offended by this statement of DiBella.

DiBella really shouldn't have said that. A bit tasteless and disrespectful.

I don't like that ****'s attitude, that's what I'm trying to say. Also hypocritical because fans to latch onto personalities and the humanity of their fighters. These aren't monkeys in a zoo.
