I've thought for a while Wilder might be putting off his next fight, so he could step in and fight Joshua, if Wladimir never took the rematch.

Wilder has been waiting three years to cash out of the sport. He finally has his opertunity now.
A unification fight is allowed under the rules. What do you think?

I think it's unlikely. There's no reason he couldn't have fought Stiverne in May/June and again at the end of the year.

It's likely they are finding difficult to get enough money to pay Wilder & Stiverne because nobody wants to see that fight again.

Stiverne has failed two drugs tests.
    Wilder wants to cash out.

No doubt Wilder will send out some inane child like tweets like "iM cOmInG To gEt yOu Joshooooa !" In reality he will stick to fighting the likes of Buffet King and worse until Eddie can manage to build up a fight with AJ and Wilder for cash out level money (cash out for Wilder that is). Problem is hardly anyone knows who Wilder is outside of Alabama. If Wilder fights and beats Ortiz then a unification will certainly be on as Wilder would then have some credibility - but I very much doubt that fight will happen.

If he's cashing out then it makes sense. Usually the fans accusing one of fear are the fearful ones themselves. I think Wilder is milking his titles, and I think he loses (most likely) as soon as he steps up. He does have that puncher's chance though.

Wilder vs Joshua could go either way, I wouldn't consider either man a foregone conclusion.

How's he milking his titles? He defended and won titles this year against a top 3 heavyweight. He's been waiting for a decision for the rematch until today.

No Joshua has to face Pulev now. Wilder who cares tv networks don't even want to carry his next fight.

He would have to fake an injury. The commisions would never let this guy just sit on a belt,bc theres no guarantee that fight would take place soon ....so Wilder wont fight another year? Nope.

Hes going to fight Stiverne than if he can get away with it...Joshua.

The reason why hes intentionally stalling the Stiverne fight is exactly the reason you are suggesting .....to fight no one !But he has to fight someone.
