According to Szpilka's promoter Andrew Wasilewski there were some talks about fighting Wilder in January. They even made some first financial agreements, but Wilder's camp never called back. "Apparently Szpilka's KO ratio was too big for Wilder" - said Wasilewski on twitter. He also claims that offer went to Adamek, but he declined. Wilder is officially too funny :rofl
Wilder's offer to Glazkov is still on the table as reported by the scene. We will know who's really going to be the opponent in the next few days.
If Szpilka's manager is telling the truth this is beyond pathetic. And I have a suspicion (with Adamek's inexplicable rise in the rankings) that this is true. He better up his offer to Glazkov.
Chris Mannix just said on twitter that Duva officially confirmed that Glazkov is OUT of Wilder fight. "Duva believes the Wilder side was playing games during the negotiations. Says they will now pursue a clear path to [IBF] heavyweight title." This is beyond pathetic... So who's next for Wilder? This guy from Japan?
Maybe Stiverne reamatch. Stiverne was completely terrible by all accounts against journeyman Derrick Rossy and some people thinking that he shoulda lost and he was floored by Rossy. So that could be very appealing selection to bum squad. That Japanese guy would probably a choice bum squad likes. Supposedly it has to be someone in the WBC top 15. But we all know the WBC makes up the rules as they go or where ever the money comes from. Erkan Teper is injured so maybe the WBC will move a bum of choise into Teper's place in the top 15 for Wilder to fight.
Darnell Wilson who posts here said Wilders team preferred not to fight him because he is a heavy puncher, hes not worth a risk. Wilder's handlers told him that. They fought Jason Gavern instead. Arreola is a big puncher. They wont want to fight him. Scratch him off along with Szpilka.
