Deontay Wilder replaces George Foreman in 1974. Ali in 1974 was the same age as Wilder is today, 32 years old. Wilder is also a murderous puncher different from Foreman in that he has better stamina than a 70's George Foreman. I know many will pick Muhammad Ali to win, but this isn't a more of a who will win thread (though someone please take an opinion different from the norm and tell us how Wilder wins) as much as it is a "how well would Wilder do" kind of thread.
Jesus, Is Wilder already 32? I thought he just turned 30. '74 Ali had enough left to clown Wilder, I would say with very little effort. Ali by wiiiiiide UD, if not a late knockout. I don't see how Wilder can possibly win unless he catches Ali right on the chin with a really hard, really lucky shot early in a round.
Different times... The 70s years were full of brave fighters , the modern heavyweight boxing is about the "stunning" records. Otherwise Ali,he had lots of good opponent and win at least.
If we assume Ali is in the exactly the same shape both physically and mentally as he was with Foreman then it’s a no contest.
A far more shop worn and damaged ali took some of shavers best shots without too much trouble.wilder has nothing to bother ali Foreman 70s had better stamina than wilder and would crush deontay in 2... I like deontay too...fast explosive puncher and underrated boxer with the breland inspired skills....i love the fact hes 218-220 ilbs too
Ali beats him the same way. Due to preflight shenanigans, Wilder doesn't let Ali sit on the ropes without trying to take his head off. Wilder shows the most amazing volley of firepower in his entire career throwing 15 bombs in a row at Ali's guard, some of them glancing, a few of them connecting. Wilder tries to catch his breath when all of a sudden he hears in his ear; "This is the wrong place to get tired." He then realizes he's ****ed.
