Ortiz, although he doesn't have a great resume himself.

Ortiz, apart from a round or 2 against Jennings, has anyone ever even seen Ortiz lose a round? Meanwhile, Scott and Stiverne 2 were dives and Wilder was going round for round with Szpilka and Washington, the same Washington who was destroyed by Miller, and the same Szpilka who was dominated and stopped by Jennings, who was dominated and stopped by Ortiz. Jennings and Thompson are the best fighters on their resume's, and they are both on Ortiz's.

Tbf, Scott beat Thompson before Ortiz did, so he should be ranked above Thompson for purposes of resume.

They both have decent resumes for a TOP contender but one of them has been a champ for 3 years.
    You do the math.

True. Wilder has a disgraceful resume for a three year champ. Easily the worst ever at HW.

Beating Ortiz wouldn't actually change that, although it would make it significantly less terrible.

Audley gets destroyed by non punchers also. Guys like Michael Sprott had him on the canvas like he'd been assassinated by a sniper.

Hardly a shot Wlad, maybe not as good as he once was clearly but definitely not shot.

Ortiz has a great resume. He fought in the Cuban revolution in the 50s.

Wilder vs Scott was one of the most blatant dives/fight fixes in the history of boxing between two friends, so Scott doesn't count on Wilder's resume IMO, which is why I didn't mention him.

Ortiz has the best win, but Wilder has the better resume. The first Stiverne win is getting sold short.

Agreed. Wilder has a very shallow resume but his KO percentage is very impressive nonetheless

    Wilder, slightly.

See, everybody wants to fight Wilder. In addition to his holding a belt and having that leverage. Nobody wants to fight Ortiz. And that is why Wilders' resume is much much more disappointing.
