Joshua fought Wlad, scheduled to fight Pulev but then Takam at short notice,Parker and now Povetkin in the time he could have fought Wilder. Wilder is linked with Brazeale,Kowmacki and Martin and pre Ortiz went Washington and Stiverne. One guy is fighting exclusively top 10 opposition here.
Molina wasn’t top ten. Takam was either not top ten or at the very bottom of the top ten. Povetkin is a mandated defense just like he was for Wilder until he failed a test. Wlad was not rated, but still a solid defense.
I said since the Joshua-Wilder fight became big news. Pulev was top ten,Takam was back up.Wlad doesn’t need to be rated to know it was v a top contender.
He didn’t fight Pulev. Stiverne was also a sub. Wilder and Joshua have each fought one definite top ten and are scheduled to fight another since the Wlad fight.
Don’t give me that. Why ‘after Wlad’. Why do we start counting then? And I could have included Whyte and Brazeale but I was being charitable,Wilder similarly has Stiverne 1 but I was talking most recent.Wlad,Parker and Povetkin makes 3 top 10 opponents and that is a fact.Wilder has 1 in Ortiz in this same time period.
The fight has only been “big news” since after the Wlad fight. If you want to go before that, Joshua was fighting ****ing Molina. Since then, they’ve each beaten one top 5, one overmatched sub, and are scheduled for another defense against a ranked opponent. Kick rocks, limey.
Wilder was in the commentary box for the Wlad fight because of the speculation over them meeting. You can argue all day if you believe Wilder beats Joshua, that’s debatable of course. But anyone who tries to argue a case for Wilder chasing challenges like AJ or having a comparable resume is pushing an agenda or clueless about the sport. Joshua- W Klitschko Parker Whyte Takam Brazeale Scheduled- Povetkin Wilder- Ortiz Stiverne x 2 Spzlika Washington Scott Scheduled-? And Joshua has done that in what? 22 fights and Wilder 40 odd.Joshua had 1 simple defence v Molina which apparently was a Haymon contract stipulation for getting Charles Martin,Wilder went in against Molina and Arreola and Stiverne years past their best. Joshua chased unifications and now has 3 of the 4,Wilder is still stuck with the WBC and rumours are Kownacki,Brazeale and Warwyck. If a super fight can’t be made then one way to prove you are the real deal you say you are is to get in the ring v the next best available contenders and look for unifications. Joshua is game to fight anyone. We know that. Wilder has been a protected, slow burner with a selection of awful title defences.
your rewriting history.... Takam was ranked 8 in the WBC when Joshua fought him! Stiverne was his mandatory for 8 months so that's hardly a last minute replacement! Wilder has fought zero top ten guys as champion according to the transnational rankings... In reality Wilder has fought one while Joshua has fought multiple top 10 guys, and we all see how his opponents have done compared to Wilders! Klitchko would still be number 2 if he was around! And he fought Molina bc Klitchko postponed the fight. No neck or no brain actually comparing their resumes ?
Joshua edges Wilder on resume currently, by a pretty small margin. Does that justify him ducking Wilder and Ortiz?
He hasn’t ducked either and talk about private negotiations is an absolute waste of time on a fans forum considering all the info in the public domain is fed to us by those with vested interest.I will never understand those lengthy debates on fight negotiations,it’s madness. However what happens in the ring is fact and their resumes are noticeably different,Joshua proved as an amateur too that he will go to war with anyone and has tonnes of heart. He is a relative professional novice compared to Wilder and he is the man making moves in the division.
That makes no sense at all. Ortiz gave him a hell of a fight and deserves another chance.Wilder can prove he is improving and can adapt to styles by beating him better this time. Age is irrelevant.
