Wilder said if he does fight Povetkin again, it will have to be in the U.S. “Most definitely,” he said. “We gave them the opportunity and their chance. They blew it. Now it’s time (for him) to come to America. He’s never fought in America. So it will be his debut here and it will definitely have to be on our terms. That’s for sure.”

Wilder is likely out the rest of the year as he recovers from a broken right hand and torn right biceps suffered in the win against Arreola.

Didn't Povetkin win the purse bid? Or does Wilder not know how things work? I mean if he can negotiate for Povetkin to go to the U.S. good on him but if it goes to a purse bid and Wilder loses what then?

Povetkin's promoter won the purse bid. Fight's in Russia, or wherever the Russian promoter wants it. He could order Wilder and Povetkin to fight on the damn moon if he wants to. Wilder has absolutely no say in the matter. And neither does Povetkin.

Yea I just find it funny the way Wilder plays it up in the article he mentions of fighting in "enemy territory" the guy has got to be delusional. The way he talks it seems he does not know how boxing works this isn't a fight with an old shot Arreola that he can call the shots in. But he does not seem to realize it.

They blew it by passing a blood test which was corruptly flagged to give his **** bag **** a way to flee the country in 2 seconds flat and fight a beyond shot areolla in his 4th bull**** defence on the trot.
Just let him have the belt and ignore the ****** till he wants to fight anyone at all of note, why people show him the slightest bit of interest is beyond me

Povetkin was cleared by WADA, Wilder was afraid to fight Povetkin. Ryabinsky won the purse bid, so the fight will be in Russia. Fight was not cancelled, just postponed, WBC wanted to help Wilder, then allowed Wilder to fight a fourth voluntary defense...................nobody else could get away with that. Again, Povetkin did not blow it, the blood test was a mistake...............not Povetkin's fault, it was WADA and the WBC's fault. Wilder way crying to the WBC to not make him fight Povetkin..............

This seems to me that Wilder is actually planning to drop the belt with the least loss of face possible. He can't really believe he can just demand that, and if he really does then it's almost impossible that nobody in his camp points him at the rules of purse bids.
But it does indicate that he either knows or expects that the WBC is going to rule in Povetkin's favor, because up till now his retoric was "the fight is off".

Some of us have been calling this long before the cancelled fight.

The WBC is clearly helping him to hold onto the belt as long as possible, but with Povetkin cleared, the gravy train is about to derail.

    Povetkin-Stiverne for the vacant title.

If Wilder drops the belt he has nowhere to go. He isn't a big enough name to demand fights, he doesn't have a high enough ranking to make a fight with other prospects.

It will be like Quillan all over again.

Everyone ranks Pov ahead of Wilder anyways. His recent fights gave been against better opposition as well.

Sure he does because, let's face it, he is an easy mark. Fury jumped in the ring after Szpilka trying to stir some interst in the fight.

Wilder has struggled in three of four defenses against competition that ranges from C- to C+. Thus, he is about a B- fighter himself. Who wouldn't want to sell a fight against an undefeated former "champion" with four "title defenses," when in truth he is a fringe contender who beat some gatekeepers?

Nah mate. This belt is all he has.

He isn't a big name, he doesn't have a good resume and his auro of destruction has long since passed.

How is he cleared? He was found with PEDs in his system which cost him the fight on the date.. He can NEVER be cleared of that. :patsch

The WBC rightfully protected the integrity of the sport as they know all about the Russians shady behaviour.

Google - Promoter: Wach, Durodola Both Failed Drug Tests -

Then google - Mariusz Wach and Olanrewaju Durodola cleared of drug accusations

Scumbag Rabinsky tried to get Kudryashov's 2 round loss over turned by spiking Durodola's water. Just like they done to Browne.

They done the same thing to Wach so they wouldn't have to pay him.

The WBC were onto these cheaters well before Povetkin was busted. They knew he was juiced out of his eyebalz ever since he lost to Wlad.

If Pedvetkin wants the fight , he goes crawling and begging for it on US soil.

If Wilder wants to dictate terms then its easy: He can simply win the purse bid. Oh wait but he didn't. He has no choice but to follow whats dictated to him -- or drop the belt.
