Peds aren't a liberty for he winning bidders. The contract was broken. They cost Wilder a lot of money. The ball is in his court now.
Povetkin plays or gets out of the park.

The WBC will decide that -- and US courts. Not you.

Povetkin didn't mean to cheat, just like my future wife Yulia Efimova said she didn't mean to take meldonium......Really though...Wilder is not big on fighting any live bodies due to his abysmal glass jaw.

Wilder needs to shut up the more he talks the more it's clear he wants no part of Povetkin. Dummy, if you wanted to call the shots your team should of backed you more. You lost the purse bid. Fight is where Povetkin's promoter wants it.
Yulia elfimova was just allowed to compete in the Olympics after meldonium showed up in her sample. So this fight will happen.

I agree with Wilder. That first fight was cancelled due to Povetkin's failed drug test. Even though he was cleared later, based on a technicality, the original contract is null and void (or it should be). They should renegotiate the contract...and the venue should be here in the states. No exceptions.

And of course, OSDT should be strictly enforced...as a precaution to protect the fighters.

Hmm... so how does that work exactly? Does Povetkin's team still carry the rights to the fight since they won the purse bid? Or does it 'reset' due to the unfortunate events?

Legit answers. Not some emotional fan based response.

He definitely WON'T ditch the belt - that's his big selling point. And c'mon - he went to Russia already after completing his camp - he was ready and willing to fight, that much is already proven. When Wilder loses the belt it will be when someone KO's him. He will never walk away from that belt. NEVER. What has he to lose ? The belt is his CASH COW.

That's what I would imagine but I'm curious how this is actually decided.

    Maybe in Oakland?

Then Kovalev, Ward, Povetkin and Wilder could have a double date :smooch

wether or not you think the original contract should be null and void is irrelevant, the fact of the matter is its not. the fight was postponed not cancelled, therefore the original contract stands, povetkin's team won the purse bid so wilder better get on a plane...
