I'm sure he was. Guess he should have fought Crawford a few years ago, huh? You know, when we wanted to see it and weight would not have been an issue for Spence, and if anything a bonus for him against a Crawford still adjusting to the weight?
Pretty sure Spence will have his chance to prove he was drained, if he gets the rematch at 154. If he loses that one he can say he’s really a 160 fighter and demand a third fight. Just keep going up until he wins. Maybe he’s a true cruiser or heavyweight!
Didn't Crawford miss weight for this fight? Sounds like he didn't have a cakewalk either making weight.
This content is protected Of course, Deontay Wilder said this about Crawford while he was commenting on Spence's appearance ... and it gets buried.
Wilder's right. And Spence had only fought once in 2 and a half years. Boiling down to those weights with such inactivity is going to leave you rusty. We saw a rusty Spence in there with Crawford. Would have been way more competitive otherwise.
Wilder isn't the most credible source on this for a few reasons. Mostly in this case, because he and Spence are PBC stablemates or at least they were.
Excuse-O-Meter 1) Car crash 2) weight drained 3) Loaded gloves 4) PED's 5) Spence took a dive 6) Crawford threatened Spence's family wirh harm if Spence won. 7) Mayweather was behind it some how. 8) Andre Ward was behind it some how. 9) Andre Ward and Mayweather were in on it some how.
Well I've been constantly told he's dropped heavyweights in sparring so he certainly won't be outmatched physically!
