The agenda of this people is so transparent. If Spence was from a different demographic some of these people would be making outrageous excuses for his defeat.
No i like Jermell he's always been one of my favorites & brings his all to his fights & is high action every time, the brashness is fine but he just goes over board with his insults & disrespectful behavior even to people who are being kind to him, it's as if he imagines the feeling of everyone being against him in an excuse to have a huge chip on his shoulder which is what garners him all that heat from the fans, You can see both Crawford & Errol are brash at times but are also very respectful & don't go around making angry faces just to intimidate the Media/fighters for no reason & yes Jermell's antics can be at times very entertaining but it gets old very quick.
I'm not saying it was hostile territory. We know the Japanese, like Brits, are a very polite and respectful people and that Fulton was treated extremely well by them even after the cheating accusations from his team. Honour is a huge thing in Japanese culture and it's highly insulting to throw those kind of accusations at them. Team Fulton are lucky the Yamaguchi-gumi family let him leave Japan with their head still attached to their necks I was actually pissed Inoue went over to pay his respect to Fulton in the ring after the fight. I actually thought and hoped he didn't and usually I hate it when the winner doesn't do that. I don't dislike Fulton but some of his pre-fight comments rubbed me up the wrong way as did the cheating accusations from his team and I felt Inoue was well within his rights to give him the cold shoulder for it. And we also know that the ref and judges were from neutral countries and that the stacked deck of a home ref and three home judges is standard practice in the US when foreigners fight over there in world title fights against home boys and it's extremely unfair and if the shoe was on the foot that is not the same one as the other one the outrage would be deafening from fans who hail from those shores and rightly so. We also know robberies in Japan are much rarer and that Murata who was by far the most popular fighter in Japan, a literal superstar media darling Olympic gold medalist with his cool hair and good looks, was robbed blind in his own country against a foreigner in a fight which no one thinks he lost. But Inoue still had home advantage and there are many factors which combine to make home advantage advantageous for the home fighter.
Crawford by his own admission struggled to make 147 and Spence said he was moving up after this fight. Neither fight is making excuses.
I am not even a particular fan of Jermell but his achievements in a very competitive division cannot be denied. If Jermell beats Canelo in September many on here will still not have him in the P4P rankings.
Great points by coverage & yes i knew Inoue would be too respectful to not do the right thing even when it wasn't deserved one bit, The only thing i would add is those Allegations that Fulton & team started will now follow Inoue past his Careers post date, those residual effects will be permanent making it that much worse.
Britain can be a nice and respectful place but not always like when Hagler came to defeat Minter and ripped the belts away or when Azumah Nelson knocked out Pat Cowdell. It was so funny Uncle was oblivious not realising the crowd were being hateful and disrespectful.
Thanks Yes good point. That's the worst part - those completely baseless malicious accusations will still be used to discredit Inoue by many fans. Even though, regarding the wraps, he conceded to Team Fulton's demands and wrapped his hands the way they wanted. The fact that Inoue's brother has 4 KOs in 19 fights should've told them how ridiculous those accusations were.
You're having to travel back a long way back in time, Olu. Of course that was disgusting the way Hagler was treated but it was a long time ago. And I was joking about British fans. Yes we are generally known for our politeness but we can be rather hostile and yobbish too. AJ fans spat at and verbally abused one of the nicest and classiest guys to ever don a pair of gloves in Usyk as he was making his way back to his dressing room after the first fight
All great and valid points. I was pissed that Inoue said that he will follow the Japanese Boxing Commission's rules and then wrapped his hands the way Team Fulton demanded. But I'm also glad that he did that because he was like, okay, I got you female dogs, and still knocked Fulton out. I think Inoue agreed because Team Fulton said they would not fight if Inoue wrapped his hands under the JBC rules. But man, Fulton talked a gang of crap about Inoue. Called him too small, nothing without power, and a hype job. Depending on what Fulton does, Inoue may have KO wins over Fulton at 122, 126, and 130, which would super sweet.
Yeah no need for bad behaviour which is why I like how Crawford and Spence in particular conducted themselves after the fight. As for the long time travel, don’t forget I am an older boy who has been around. Hell when my late friend and country man Kid Akeem Anifowoshe fought Robert Quiroga in his hometown in San Jose Texas the crowd were screaming DOA as in dead on arrival.
Fulton chumming it up hard with Brain Custer taking digs at "Little No Power" Inoue as well as Custer always behaving like an overjoyed fangirl whenever Spence came him around made his post fight reaction that much worse along with Broner looking god smacked in disbelieve at what transpired, And you know it's odd how no one was able to get an hold of Jermell at the post fight after him betting 25k on Spence, leaving Jermell to be added in the new edition of Where's Wally?
