My guess on the Sociners fight is that he was paid off, similar to Malik Scott, but had second thoughts and refused to follow the script. Wilder had to dig deep to beat a professional loser.
From what my friend said, Wilder rose from the canvas on completely unsteady legs and would've probably been ko'ed if the round didn't end literally seconds later. It looked like a definite ko if there was say, a minute left.
