Exactly. Ortiz thinks he's in with a real chance here with Wilder, whereas he wouldn't have bothered to train for Wlad back then, knowing he'd lose. Curse of being as good as Wlad is, I suppose.

Anybody see a small furry 4-legged critter running through this thread? I'm afraid to tell you that it's carrying the plague and must be removed.

Ever stop and think Ortiz is younger than listed?

Blonde hair not a grey in sight, Ortiz is probably younger than Wilder

Not all of us AJ fans are that irrational.

Wilder will get his due if he wins, but again, it took him way too long!

If he beats Ortiz, he deserves less credit than if he had beaten Joshua, Povetkin, or Parker.

However, he will deserve more credit than he would for beating any other HW.

It depends, if Ortiz looks rhe least bit good vs Wilder and Wilder looks good to great then Wilder ahould get buckets of fans!!!!!

If Ortiz looks horrid and Wilder struggles with him looking horrid himself not so much.

As it always is you knuckleheads.

Problem with the knuckleheads is a lot of people don't see notice good boxing if it punches them in the face and the fight could get less credit than it's worth in terms of the level it's at. As far as I'm concerned Ortiz and Wilder have proven themselves as top 5 operators, and those two and Parker and Joshua are fighting a tournament to get a chance to vie for #1. If we get a fight between the winner of these two then we have someone who can make a pretty good claim on the current #1, at least if Fury starts fighting again and gets to his Klitschko-defeating form.

Even if Ortiz isn't in his 100% peak prime, he still has more than enough to put on a complete boxing clinic vs Wilder. Extremely crafty Southpaw, superb chin and defense, unforgivingly accurate counter puncher, great feinter with subtle movement that sets you up in his traps, utilizes both head and body punching on the front and back foot, it's hard to fault a guy with Ortiz's boxing pedigree. If Wilder wins, he deserves credit, but Ortiz is simply too much for Wilder and will stop him in the middle rounds.

That’s totally unfair, you can’t call a guy for fighting bums and then have a go when he actually steps up and fights a guy who’s ranked near the top of the division, forget about age that means nothing cause if he’s ranked at the top he’s there on merit.

What you’re giving Joshua credit for his imaginary 2nd best win against Ortiz in front of 90.000 imaginary people?
Agree about Wilder but I actually think he’s stepping up from c level to A so bad has is opposition been but he’ll get credit from me too.

For sure and re Wilder as much as we all like to take the Mickey about him the actual boxers and promoters themselves seem to have a healthy respect for him.

What i was doing is saying that if Joshua had beaten Ortiz it would be his 2nd best win on his resume and he would be given credit, therefore if Wilder goes out and does the business I would therefore also give him credit too.

No matter who he beats his haters will make excuses. Its funny how a year ago Ortiz crushes him. But the closer the fight gets somehow Ortiz is slowly becoming a tomato can. gtfoh!
