This. Crawford is currently in this position right now, since Arum barely has any opponents for him at 147. From the fighters perspective having an agreement with Haymon makes a lot of sense considering the size of his stable. Broner knows he’ll never have a shortage a work with Haymon.

If I were Broner (thank Zeus I'm not) I would fight the likes of Vargas for that insane money offered. No way he would otherwise make that in his career.

Using that logic if you were Terence Crawford you would rather fight Jeff Horn and Amir Khan than Spence, Porter or Thurman because you're making more money with Bob Arum....

    Tough one.
For Crawford there's obviously a future, and beating better opposition now might be much more beneficial for future earnings.
Quite different as Broner and probably Wilder's case.

I agree totally but believe Broner would lose all of those fights in his current form. It would be interesting to see what his purses are like om PBC as he was offered $6.75m with DAZN for 3 fights in 12 months. If they were expecting him to fight that often I am guessing it would have been Vargas level opponents. Granted he said this was laughable but only recieved $2.5m base pay for the Pac fight.
