If you been following American heavyweight boxing in the last decade or so you should be ecstatic to see a guy like Wilder at least provide something to U.S heavyweight boxing.

No---several people enjoyed parts of it. It may not be a classic fight but it was more exciting than many other fights. IMO it was more entertaining than watching Pacquiao use Algieri's head as a double-end bag for 12 rounds.

The first 8 rounds were really good. I haven't been that excited in a heavyweight boxing title fight since Brewster/Liakhovich.

I was definitely more pumped for the Arreola-Stiverne rematch.

Say what you wanna but the heavyweight division hasn't been this exciting in at least a decade. Dontay is not ready for Wlad yet but if Wlad is still hanging around in a couple of years he will get escorted out of the division by Wilder. The only thing saving Wlad now is his ring savvy. Wilder is still too raw but he is a much better fighter at this stage of career than Wlad was at the same point in his.

These people with conservative mindsets who always think "past was better" no matter what. It was a decent fight, there's absolutely nothing to be sad about.

As the number one Eastern European ass kisser on the forum I think its great for US boxing, finally we have a champion, which may lead to few more casuals caring and watching, ratings will go up, more money will pour in, and then Wilder will be KTFO by Wlad and everyone will realize how great he is after destroying him and Brit Hypejob Fury back to back. And Wlad will go down as the GOAT.

The USA heavyweights bring the glamour and excitement to boxing.

How can someone not think higher of Wilder after this fight?

He proved he can go 12.... he proved he can take an ok punch.... he proved his power isn't a mirage and also that it carries late into a fight (not just a front runner)

Its not his fault Stiverne did nothing tonight, but he still answered many questions at least partially.

Someone would have to have been completely overrating him based on nothing, to not at least be partially impressed with a guy who has never been past 4 rounds and never beaten a quality guy legitimately, showing what he did tonight.

But yes of course US heavies are woeful. I don't see why someone needed tonight to show them that.

But Jennings is a quality fighter.

Its just sour grapes on their part, they convinced themselves for months to believe in something that didn't come to fruition, and now are in a state of denial and will resort to the kneejerk Bermane was a Bum rhetoric for awhile, the hatred of the casual fans support for Wilder clouded their judgment and kept them from seeing the fight as clearly as it should have been seen, that Stiverne is a talented but 1 dimensional fighter, and that Wilder would use his jab to keep Stiverne at bay, and not give Stiverne the one thing he does well which is counter off the ropes.

Wilder deserves credit the same as Fury deserves credit for his TKO of Chisora. But their shock at not being as smart as they thought they were has shaken them to their core, they'll come around after they have a few days to process it.:yep

I'm a Fury fan, but Chisora is a has been loser. Why should he get credit for beating a guy he already schooled that was clearly losing to Scott before the bs stoppage?
