Given all that has been said, there will probably a perception on the part of officials that Wilder’s corner won’t, under any circumstances, throw the towel in, which would of course be a stupid and dangerous way to run a corner. With that in mind, I wouldn’t be surprised if some refs now go into his fights on edge, and end up stepping in at the first real sign of trouble. Personally, I’d like to see Ian John Lewis handed the job in the event of an immediate rematch.
