Sconiers had Wilder nearly out of there..

Ringside reports say he barely survived round 2.

No one since has been able to get to Deonkey so good..

    --Deonkey opponent level is regressing

It's a fairly meaningless "stat". Some mandatories are worthless - Dominic wade! A voluntary can be tough. That being said - wilder may have the weakest resume in the history of the division for a 4x title defender.

Well it´s one of four titles. You have to take that into account.
When did the WBO become relevant? In the early 2000´s?
And lets not forget that the JBC:

Uncle Al made the executive decision to have all copies of this confiscated; even Harold's own copy he showed his friends and family to show he wasn't a total can,
Uncle Al ordered them thrown in the Alabama swamp with concrete boots never to be seen again.

Those that have survived the fight have an interesting story to tell, indeed!

What you fail to mention is that very few heavyweight titlists managed even four title defenses.

So on that short list of heavyweights who did get to four defenses ... Wilder may be down on the list, yes.

But it's not a big list to start with (heavyweight champs with four successful defenses).

Who didn't make four successful title defenses?

George Foreman. Sonny Liston. Gene Tunney. Rid**** Bowe. Bob Fitszimmons. Jim Corbett. Max Baer. Max Schmeling. Jack Sharkey. Jim Braddock. Ingemar Johansson. Jersey Joe Walcott. Pinklon Thomas. Mike Weaver. Greg Page. John Tate. Sultan Ibragimov. Leon Spinks. Ernie Terrell. Jimmy Ellis. Ken Norton. Primo Carnera. Jess Willard. Roy Jones. Hasim Rahman. Michael Moorer. Buster Douglas. Tony Tucker. Tony Tubbs. Frank Bruno. Oliver McCall. Bruce Seldon. Bonecrusher Smith. Tim Witherspoon. David Haye. Sam Peter. Oleg Maskaev. Lamon Brewster. Gerrie Coetzee. Michael Dokes. Charles Martin. Michael Spinks. Ray Mercer. Tommy Morrison. Herbie Hide. Henry Akinwande. Corrie Sanders. Bermane Stiverne. Shannon Briggs.

You could add James Toney, Frans Botha and Lucas Browne as guys who won belts but failed drug tests and were stripped with no defenses.

We'll see if Tyson Fury manages to get to four defenses. He can't seem to even make it to the ring for his first.

We'll see if Joshua makes it to four. He's only got one so far.

So, if Wilder wins his fourth defenses, he'll already have more defenses than all those guys.

I think some of you guys just got used to Wlad racking up defenses.

Most heavyweight champions in history win and lose the title before making many defenses at all.

Wilder has already accomplished more as champ than the MAJORITY of boxers who have held a heavyweight title. Most reigns are fleeting.

    C'mon.
    His defenses are against

    A teacher
A pastry chef (from France no less)
    A professional soccer hooligan
Next a washed up burrito-boy who was smashed by shot Vitali 7 years ago

Imagine if it turns out Wilder is actually the best heavyweight out there and clear house. Would that make these ridiculous defences look better or worse?

After Deontay Wilder gets by Fast Chris Arreola, I imagine Dominic Breazeale will get the call to fight Wilder -- maybe in November 2016. :deal

If anything, the defences against Molina and Duhaupas already look better, by virtue of Molina beating Adamek, and Duhaupas beating Helenius.

Good point. Tough to make 4 defenses because generally a heavyweight champ actually fights atleast 1 legit fighter within 2 years of getting the belt.

I disagree with your statement that he has accomplished more as a champion than the others on the list. His 3 victories are equivalent to the number of wins that buster Douglas had as champ - which is 0. Any decent heavyweight champ could have 100 title defenses by hand picking club fighters.

You seem to know heavyweights - is Martin the least talented fighter to ever hold a belt?
