Recall Wilder saying he wants to move down to cruiserweight before he hangs up his gloves to become a 2 weight world champion. Perhaps Usyk could move down to bridgerweight after he's finished his business at heavyweight to eclipse what Haye and Holyfield achieved during their careers to become a 3 weight world champion.

I'd be surprised if Wilder, at 6'7, could make cruiser but bridger is 224 lb and I recall Wilder weighing in less than that. Usyk going down to Bridger would be a great move, would love to see him become a 3 weight world champ.

Hopefully Bridger dies a painful death soon

Wilder only weighed 214 and a half pounds for his bout against Helenius, but yeah you're right Wilder is at an age now where it's going to get more difficult to stay lighter and be successful at the weight.

I thoroughly believe that Usyk will beat Fury, making him the first undisputed champ of the four belt era. How will bridger ever be a thing when the undisputed heavyweight champ fights UNDER the bridger limit?

That's like spending 10 years banging super models and then getting an offer to sleep with Nicola Sturgeon.

    Nah I'm good but thanks.

Babic is C level, but his style is all wrong for Wilder. Deontay can't deal with pressure.

Wilder will make Bridgerweight with ease.
He was 212.5 a few years ago, & that was without dehydrating.
He could rehydrate from any weight he ever fought at & make 224 without shedding any muscle or fat.

Having no legs makes him lighter than he would otherwise.
14" calves are one thing, but 18" for thighs?
Fuhgettibout modern SHWs; the only HW I know whose upper legs were that small was-maybe Ruby Red?
Who was more like a MW!

I really like Usyk but please let us stop giving any significance to Bridger. Becoming champ in it would not make him a 3 weight world champ. Besides, he does not need to be.

That weight class is tailor made for Usyk. Lol! I mean they created it, it’s not going anywhere I don’t think, so before Oleksandr retires WHY not go ‘down’ there (His walking around weight is probably 220 without all the constant effort to be 225ish) and snag a belt or two?! :D

But I believe Usyk said after Fury, MAYBE a couple more fights and he’s done. And as they say, when a fighter even starts thinking about retirement… it’s best to hang up the gloves shortly after. Too dangerous of a sport to do otherwise. And Usyk doesn’t really need Bridger for his legacy.

I wish they had just kept Cruiser to Heavyweight and not mess with it. Oh well. Make the best of it I guess.

You can sweat out 14lb on an afternoon in a bathtub, it’s easy. and rehydrate back 14lb is also easy

Problem is that Fury will definitely be at least two fights, as rematch clauses are ubiquitous. Our man is 36 and averaging a fight a year, so sadly, I think it is the Fury saga, then done.

If he does fight on, I would love to see him move down, as he has said that it is a struggle to keep the weight on to compete at heavy, and his upcoming mandatories suck anyway. Opetiea or Okolie at cruiser, and hey, if he wants to beat Babic for this bridger belt, it is no worse a fight than Dubois, and would get him another pseudo weight class.

Featherfisted Cruiserweight Adam Balski came within a hair of KOing Babic three times, and left him badly dazed and clearly concussed. Wilder puts him into a coma, Babic would be risking his life stepping in the ring with him. So just stop entertaining the idea there's but one outcome to this match.

Bridgerweight is a real division that is here to stay, whether you like it or not. If it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck...it's a duck!

Haha! The occasional Nicola Sturgeon can happen on a dark night…as long as she doesn’t become a habit!
