Wilder: Usyk got robbed of a knockout in the ninth round for sure. Gifts were given.

Its mad that Usyk threw the absolute kitchen sink at Fury like that but still couldn't knock him off his feet. No matter what anybody says about Fury, even his biggest haters cannot deny that hes got balls like KingKong.

 

Using Wilder's logic: Dustin Nichol's was robbed of a KO victory over himself when he had him wobbling from a check jab. The man needs to lay of the ayahuasca.

 

Wilder is only stating what we all know already. The ref literally impeded Usyk's progress as he was attempting to unleash on Fury then seconds later interrupted what was sure to be a lights out finishing blow. Usyk was robbed of an epic KO victory.

 

I won't say Usyk was robbed of a knockout, I will say there are numerous examples of fights that were stopped justly where the loser wasn't taking the damage that Fury took in that round.

 

There are fights stopped earlier and fights stopped later. Pick and choose.
But in a unification fight at HW, basically the most important fight in the sport, let's see a fight stopped in a similar situation.
It makes sense they would give Fury every chance.
Now if they turn around and stop Usyk early in the rematch, then you can talk about favouritism.

People don't seem to understand that stoppages in boxing are also depended on the importance of the fight in question. This is not in the rules per say but it's observed and understood. This is why you often see fights waved off very early in domestic clashes and non-title fights when they're trying to 'save' fighters. It's deemed unnecessary to take the punishment for little reward.

It's also pretty laughable hearing about Fury getting such special treatment in his career if you've followed it longer than a few years. He got a few breaks due to being a prospect and brand, you could argue the McDerm and the Wallin fight if you like, even though he was dominating the Wallin fight.

But he was also up against it with the Wlad fight, docked a point for nothing and Wlad got away with an open headbutt, plus K2 tried to handicap them on the ring. The first Wilder fight he was clearly robbed by the judges.

Fury was never AJ, he never got that kind of privilege. And he still doesn't have the same backing.

 

They wouldn't let a British champion knocked out by an Ukrainian whose country is being destroyed by the West.

 

Shane Mosley vs Vernon Forrest is one of the closest. Although not quite as bad because Shane didn't take so many consecutive shots. And Shane was trying to hold and defend but still hurt really, really bad and taking a beating.

But you are right. Fury had his hands completely down. Like when we say a fighter has no legs, he had no arms at all. They were gone.

The ref arbitrarily elected to waive ruling a technical KD due to rope support when a staggering Fury was being bounced around the ring like a pin ball.

All bonuses were lit up and about to pay big time.

The ref then contradicted his position choosing to rule a technical KD only when Usyk was about to land the coup de grace.

First, the refs apparent intention was to save Fury from a default 10-8 round but then the priority shifted to saving Tyson altogether.

As already mentioned, there was also the ref impeding Usyk multiple times during the round and then kindly assisting Fury part way back to his corner at the end of the round.

Without even having to see the rematch, the ref for the first fight already displayed notable inconsistencies in favour of Fury.

 

A guy can be full of sh*t and still be right once in a while.
