Look at my two recent threads about Sullivan. If you swapped the names for two modern fighters, it would sound exactly like the arguments that we have on this forum!
Can you guys please try to express your disagreements without all the masturbation/incest/disabilities slurs and ad hominems? Vulgar flame wars like this don’t impress anyone and only further diminish the level of discourse in this forum. I don’t mean to sound self-righteous...just my two cents.
I can't. What I can show you, is that Sullivan gobbled up the best available challengers like peanuts, until age and alcoholism forced him to take a more cautious approach.
Wilder vs bowe would be interesting, I would have said bowe but as of yesterday my money is on wilder, I could see wilder stopping bowe before the end. Then again bowe was the more skilled and proven guy and could win a u.d. Carnera is fast asleep before round 2
The Bowe under Eddie Futch tutelage was a very serious force to be reckoned with. A disciplined Bowe on pts . Wilder stops Carnera after multiple knockdowns.
Agree ..Prime Bowe was a beast. He could get u on the inside or keep it outside. He beats Wilder from one end of the ring to the other until he knocks him out. That ridiculous pawing and low punch output while simultaneously loading up on the rt hand for all the world to see would be suicide against Bowe.
Prime Bowe was still there to be hit, Wilder is the bigger puncher by a good distance. He always finds the mark eventually and can't see Bowe taking those punches.
Wilder won't take Bowes either and Bowe is a vastly superior fighter. One stoppage of a guy about 4-5 in the world in which he went life and death doesn't suddenly make all others minced meat for him. He showed just as many dilemma's as strengths. The way he's been praised for coming back to win a fight after being hurt (not even on the canvas) makes it look like no boxers ever won after being hurt before. Mind you it was similar when Joshua went life and death with Wlad. It seems very easy to get carried away now the divisions open and there's a little bit of excitement again.
