PBC and ITV are linked up BT showed Wilder’s last fight Sky have a vested interest in Wilder as he is a Future AJ Opponent and Sky had all his fights since he became the WBC Champion bar the Fury fight Where do you think it’s gonna end up ?
You said it yourself, ITV and PBC are linked up. BT and Sky aren't going to bother paying for a fight that will generate a negligible amount of viewers over here, when there is already a prospective platform available to take on that cost.
Poxon should be jumping on this and trying to pursuade ITV to show a reply on the Sunday morning/afternoon as well as the live broadcast. I know in this day you can just record and watch it whenever, but it would do great figures as we all used to love abit of Sunday sport.
It’ll be on ITV I’d imagine. It would be the first time a heavyweight world title fight will have been shown free to air in years.
I could honestly see it not ending up on the telly in the UK. Might be one that's too expensive to bid for, compared to the viewers it will get. It's not like ITV are automatically showing all PBC shows, they've already missed a couple. Davis-Ruiz, Peterson-Lipinets just off the top of my head. The only USA shows Sky show now are DAZN/Matchroom USA shows and I can't see BT showing it either as they haven't showed any Showtime promoted shows for their American shows, only Top Rank ones so far if I'm not mistaken. I do realise I used the word show or shows about a zillion times in that paragraph but I can't be arsed going back and re-wording it now. I'll just leave it as it is even though I'm not really happy with it Lol.
Haymon gives it to ITV cheap for free to air then uses the ratings to argue for a share of the AJ v Wilder UK PPV.
