This content is protected Tyson Fury, undefeated inside and outside the ring. He's given us a few brilliant press conferences over the years! Pity the Haye fight never happened. Would've been a good name on the resume.
Fury did a decent job boxing him, but he certainly did NOT have decent firepower. His punches were most often more like slaps than actual, weight-bearing punches. If Wilder loses the fight it's because he refuses to learn how to a) adequately cut off the ring and b) make the jab (not the right hand) his most important punch. Wilder with even a Lewis-level jab would beat any of the top heavies today, no doubt in my mind at least. Most by knockout/TKO. Fury at times looks very uncoordinated when trying to throw power punches. If he'd learn how to coordinate his body into his punches he'd be fearsome. Until then he remains the only Slapsie-Maxie heavyweight champion.
I hate to say it because I'm a boxing fan not a freak athlete with wild swinging power shots from unorthodox angles fan, but I think Wilder will win by KO in the first half of the fight. Would love to be proved wrong though.
I'm seeing a lot more confident Wilder KO predictions as we get closer to the fight. (Not aimed at anyone in particular, just been breezing over both forums) I'm not saying it won't happen but I just couldn't write Fury off. He's talking a serious game in recent interviews and it's not the usual trash talk. Just read an article there where he said he was afraid he'd made the wrong decision changing trainer but after three weeks he realised he'd made a fantastic decision. He said before he was polishing what he had bit now he's working on new things and he feels great. Also said he's willing to do anything to get this victory. I think Fury is feeling strong, refreshed, excited and extremely confident. It's going to take a hell of a punch to keep the man down. That's all I'm saying!
He's hardly going to turn round and say 'you know what, I've had a shocker here. This training isn't what I need'
I’m now leaning heavily towards Wilder by KO in around 6. I just think Wilder might have overlooked Fury slightly, I mean he was at the fight before in Belfast and he clearly wasn’t impressed, even going as far as to shout instructions to Tyson during the fight. Another thing that people don’t really mention, but Wilder was extremely light (even for him) for the first fight and he looked much weaker than usual. If he comes in at around 220lb again like the last 2 fights, plus as I suspect he will be fully switched on and now used to Fury’s movement, I think this will give him the keys to victory.
I believe my agreement and enthusiasm for this type of prediction might be just as much my heart as my head. I so want to see Fury OUT of that lineal position, I just don't like his fighting style at all. Just me, no offense to Fury fans.
I still believe Fury wins this. I like Wilder a lot, but he’s going to lose more rounds than he wins here. He will land the odd jab, and he will land the odd shot here and there, I just think Fury rides them this time.
The diversity of the predictions are what make this a great fight between two excellent champions. You may not rate Wilder's technical ability, or Fury's power but you can't deny the heart of these men and their ability to win fights. Either way, ring magazine heavyweight champion will be crowned. I'm living for this fight!
I believe they're still in contact and Davison is very much behind him so I'm sure plenty of good advice is going Tyson's way. Davison will always deserve immense credit for the job he did with Tyson.
