I don't buy ppv's, crazy to do it, at all, in this day and age. However, I probably fell for it, in the sense that I thought Helenius was a chance to do better than he did. I never saw or watched his losses to Washington or Duhaupas but I have watched him from his early days. In hindsight, I think you are correct, I don't think he took a dive but if you were looking for an opponent, as a safe bet, Helenius would probably be on speed dial.
Now, let's cast our minds back to when Luis Ortiz was at Matchroom. I don't recall much haste on Eddie's part to put a better, harder hitting, more compelling Cuban than Sánchez in with precious Oluwafemi.
When you pretend of being so great while beating beggars and suddenly you got dragged like a rag by the first top fighter you face, you make a comeback not with another beggar, but a decent fighter. It's obvious for years that WBC is protecting the dosser, just as the people officially behind him. But they should've found a good boxer at least.
Maybe because Joshua was looking to unify with Parker and then had a mandatory with Povetkin which was mandated before Ortiz's mandatory. And prior to that Joshua had a mandatory with Pulev, which ended up with Pulev pulling out and Joshua fighting Takam and before than Joshua unified with Wlad. So what was Hearn to do, not unify with Wlad and Parker, get Joshua stripped by ducking Parker and Pulev? Fact is Ortiz only needed to wait until the Povetkin mandatory was done and he would of gotten his shot or accepted the $7 million offer he rejected when Miller was caught doping. Instead Ortiz ducked Joshua.
it was a legitimate KO it was a predicted outcome it was a credible opponent for a tune up there have been less credible eliminators too the fact is Helenius earned himself a chance at a top fighter again with his 2 wins against the hyped Kownacki & Wilder was coming off 2 horrendous beatings at the hands of Fury Wilder hits hard. nothing to worry about
For all those shameless posters who think that somehow that was a dive , look at Helenius's eyes. Then sheepishly apologize
Because a fight against Wilder is the biggest payday that Helenius would ever make (outside of a fight against Fury or Joshua, neither of which would realistically happen). They are called prize-fighters for a reason. How is that hard to understand?
If you wanted to say that the boxing federations are a farce, I completely agree with you. It is business, not sport; is not it? In this farce, the WBC federation (bridgerweight) is leading the way. Why is Oleksandr Usyk not in the top 40!!! by WBC rating?
The Dosser is 1-2 in his last 3 fights 2 of those losses came via brutal KO or stoppage in his own backyard With the exception of one round both were one-side massacres The Dosser was still ranked #1 by the Wilder Bodyguard Council after back-to-back KO losses But now he deserves a title shot off the back of beating a near 39 y/o Helenius who has beaten one semi-decent opponent in a decade, human punchbag Kownacki This is Helenius' record since 2011 Adam Kownacki WTKO Adam Kownacki WTKO Mateus Roberto Osorio Gerald Washington KO loss Erkan Teper Yury Bykhautsou Yury Bykhautsou SD Robbery Dillian Whyte Loss Evgeny Orlov Gonzalo Basile Konstantin Airich Johann Duhaupas KO loss Franz Rill Beka Lobjanidze András Csomor Michael Sprott Sherman Williams SD Derek Chisora SD Robbery
