Young fury could give wilder as real boxing lesson You seen wilder getting his younger bro involved in boxing there going to milk this train hard before it gets derailed
If he won he would be the uks youngest heavyweight champion. He could even vacate the belt. No point sending him to Russia to get destroyed by povetkin.
My record as youngest Heavyweight champ would remain. I was 14 when I wrote into Boxing News to claim my alphabet title. And as DKP or Tyson did not even start negotiating on my demands of a £200 Million up front payment and further £200 Million life insurance guarantee for the fight; 27 years on, approaching my 42nd Birthday, I am also Britain's old Heavyweight title holder...
The point is an alphabet title is about the boxer. The fighter makes the title, as anyone can claim an alphabet honour. Beating Wilder would be an excellent win for Hughie, but it does not make him the best. That title belongs to Wlad and maybe come October, the other Fury...
Not everyone can win the wbc title. The fighter does make the belt but belts are around longer than fighters. It's a opportunity to win a proper world title. Klitschko is the recognised champion and rightly so. The wbc belt is a proper belt though not an ibo or wbu.
We have a Champ at Heavyweight; thus if you hold a WBC, WBU or IBO belt, it means the same, you are not champ. If you think cow **** is better than dog ****, that is your business!
I disagree with you. There are 4 belts at every weight division. The ring magazine number 1 is the champion. The difference between ibo and wbc is massive ask any boxer which they would prefer to have. If fury win he would be number 2 in the division like wilder is now. I see wbo, wbc, ibf, wba as the 4 world titles.
I do not disagree that Fury would be the #2; but that is not champion. But if you start recognizing and rating alphabet rubbish, be it WBA, WBC, The Ring or IBU, you help with one if not, THE biggest poison in this sport. Rate the fighters not the alphabet rubbish.
Yes but look at selbys division. Lomachenko, Russell jr, selby and Walters you have great fights and the belts are what recognises them as champions. You unify all four you are undisputed and that's what the true champion should do. If there was no belts or only one it would be easy to avoid fighting the best. People in the past have been avoided and not given the chance to be the champion when only 1 belt was around
Some fighters will duck and some will fight anyone regardless of belts. The trouble with alphabet soup is everyone's a 'world champion' which dilutes the meaning of the word.
There is little doubt fighters have been avoided in past, but due to technologies like this, there will be even more pressures to make the big fights. For example: Before boxrec came along promoters sold some shocking fighters with inflated numbers, that by and large has stopped. Unlike in the past, it is a lot easier for even the very casual fan to see who are the best contenders for a champion in a division. There is generally less racism in the sport; we have a more global sport and more pressure on promoters to make the fights that matter. There will be always be unlucky fighters, who do not get their deserved shot, but that is a small price to pay for removing the powers of the alphabet organizations.
wilders just a dinlo pushing for a fight too soon, and even he knows its too soon, let hughie grow as a fighter and then take the fight, he will destroy glass jawed wilder
I'm happy with the belts. Fighters get paid better for a belt on the line. They fight for money. As long as the best fight the best it doesn't matter. I understand your point about 1 champion but if there is better pay for these fighters then it's better. That's why I go to ring magazine if I want to know who is number 1. I'm not always bothered about the number 1. I would prefer to watch a British fighter than watch mayweather. It pumps me up more.
I do not understand the faith in The Ring. It has been proven they took bribes to rate fighters. Also look who owns The Ring... Like all alphabet organizations, they have their own agenda. I have no issue per se with alphabet organizations, as you suggest it can bump up fighters purse, that is good. My issue is with those smart fans who give the organizations credibility by claiming one is better than another, rather than just talking about which fighter is better...
