Tua and Lewis. Beyonce Wilder will know has only chance is to land a huge shot and Joshua with his vastly superior boxing IQ and skills will box his head off and completely embarrass him.

Lewis was much better vs Tua than AJ was v Parker.

Other than Wilder being nothing like Tua physically or in style, and Joshua being a vastly different fighter than Lewis, this is an excellent comparison…

Lewis had a massive height and reach advantage though.

Other than Wilder not being 5 foot 8 and a foot smaller than his opponent, and not being an inside fighter, the similarities are punching us all in the face.

This post should have been created on April 1st.

Tua could hit but had very limited boxing skills....just like Wilder. AJ will clown him.

I could see a scenario where Joshua decides to simply out box Wilder and try to win on points so he doesn't give Wilder the chance to unload the big right hand.

But I don't think that's a wise choice. Wilder is at his most effective when he can set his feet and unload, when he's forced to be on the back foot he's often too out of position to get the leverage he needs to launch a big right hand. Joshua's best bet is to keep Wilder moving back, keep him tentative and out of position, that way he minimises the number of big right hands that will come his way and also maximise his chances of KOing Widler before Wilder can do the same to him.

No doubt Tua was much harder puncher, but Parker is much taller, faster, more skilled fighter with much higher boxing IQ. It's easier to look good against fat one-dimensional plodder (albeit with monsterous power) than against fast, slick and smart fighter.

I see it turning out like Bonecrusher Smith vs. Frank Bruno. Joshua gasses and Wilder goes in for the kill and lays Joshua out. But, knowing Joshua the ref will jump in and and save Joshua and give him a breather.

If only Bruno had the refs that Joshua has today he possibly could've went undefeated. The ref from the Parker fight would've been pulling Iron Mike off of Bruno every time and giving Bruno free cheap shots.

Slick?!! Since when has Wilder been slick? Wilder has been outboxed plenty of times. When have you see AJ outboxed by anyone?

    Parker is slick, not Wilder.

Parker looked slick against Joshua, who is very stiff and slow, which isn't saying much.
