Tua would have a shot, but I like Wilder by early KO. Tua had an incredible chin, but his skills tend to be grossly overrated.
Rummy Wilder may well take him, but if Tua had an incredible chin (he did) it is unlikely anyone KOs him in his prime. Especially in the early rounds.
His jab was as good as anyone's, you have to be talking Larry Holmes or ??? to better it, it stacks up well with anyone's, like Listons if im honest. The atomic bull can take Wilders power and dish out his own damage for the KO at some stage
Exactly, Tua and McCall are two fellas that can take Wilders power and do their own thing prime. Both stop him imo, Shavers had a big dig that never won him a big fight when fighting prime elites, I rate him as a heavier puncher than Wilder, every shot was heavy, Wilder just has a long strong right hand and height !
Lewis didn`t throw many jabs v Bruno and when he did he landed pretty well with it, Steward improved Lewis`s jab and he would have outjabbed Bruno later in his career, Lewis didn`t go into beast mode, Bruno was gassing and wasn`t fighting well the round before he got stopped so he panicked and took a risk trying to stop Lewis in the corner leaving him wide open for the hook and that was it, very basic boxing and one of the few hooks Lewis threw in that bout.
McCall knew nothing about boxing he stopped a sloppy Lewis who looked awful v Bruno and Tucker before his loss to McCall.
Something wasn't right about that fight for me, Don King involved etc and Tyson v Bruno 2 sells much better than Tyson v his old sparring partner
Because Bruno's jab was so good Mark, Lewis was coming off second best, its what ive been saying to you
Probably Tua. He had a granite chin. Wilder has mediocre defense and not a great chin. I can envision him trying to swarm Tua and getting cold cocked with a left hook. He would go down and be on spaghetti legs. He has heart and would try to fight on. But, Tua would finish him at some point after the knockdown.
He did. That's why he could survive Wiler's "wild" early attacks and then counter. Wilder's lack of defense and chin lets him down here.
I really don't think he would have the discipline to use his height and sit behind the jab all night. I think the latter would happen. And that plays right into Tua's hands.
