Yeah, Canelo might have to enter the ring around 1 a.m. (eastern) on Sunday morning (like he did against Kovalev).

Canelo is a star. But even casual boxing fans know Deontay Wilder and Andy Ruiz and expect fireworks from that. Ryder doesn't add anything to a promotion stateside.

Canelo probably has to fight in the UK (so it's on in the afternoon in the States) or really really late, after the Wilder-Ruiz main event is over.

If it's going head-to-head with Wilder-Ruiz, Canelo might have to bite the bullet and offer the fight as a non-PPV.

I don't see a lot of boxing fans in the US skipping Wilder-Ruiz.

I would have loved to have watched one of those stacked King cards live, ideally the rematches one headlined by Chavez v Randall with Norris, Jackson, McClellan etc on the undercard.

I cannot wait for Wilder vs Ruiz. I might even consider going, even though i've never been to a fight before.

They were great nights. You forget that until someone says Haymon has Spence-Thurman and Wilder-Ruiz and only ONE can go on that date.

    Not really.

Maybe more people would actually buy PPV if you took three current PPV main events and put them on one show.

If only 50,000 or 100,000 in the US are buying each PPV these days, maybe at least three main event quality fights on one card might sell a lot more. Because history shows they kinda do.

People who say I won't buy that PPV because there's only one good fight and I won't buy that because there's only one good fight tend to buy cards when they're loaded with good fights.

Loaded cards lead to more buzz

This fight makes me nervous for Wilder. Luckily, Ruiz has recently shown some softness in his chin that obviously is there for exploitation from someone like Wilder. So while Wilder will be the rightful favorite, dont be surprised if Ruiz pulls it off.

Ruiz has shown the ability to get dropped but get back up and win.

I have my fingers crossed that when Ruiz gets put down in this fight, he stays there.

Did you go to Chavez Randell 1 at the end of ‘93 also at the MGM? Seven of the boxers on that card including Chavez, Tito, Camacho and Hearns would go on to be in the International Boxing Hall of Fame. Mental.

Interesting. I don't really see much of a chance of an upset here. Wilder will probably be cautious at the start and use his length, with Ruiz getting frustrated and eventually dropped and stopped when Wilder finds him with a big right hand.

They both have guts and the styles matchup is excellent, this one has war written all over it! Can Ruiz get inside & unload? Can't wait to see it.

If Ruiz comes in outta shape Imma throw my tv out the window.

I get what you’re saying but Ruiz is legit 6’1-6’2, I trained with him, I’m 6’1 and he’s taller than me. He looks shorter because of his built but he’s no midget like some ppl try to make him out to be.

I haven’t train with Arreola but I stood next to him and he’s a lot taller than me, at least that’s how it felt. Don’t trust the face offs, 1 can’t be barefoot while the other could have shoes on for an example.

Whatever the case may be Andy looks shorter, sometimes significantly shorter, than similarly billed (1 inch either way) boxers like Chisora, Kevin and Arreola.

It’s true, he seems a lot shorter than he is but he’s far from as short as most ppl think he is.
