Tbf he was very far past it then. His prime probably ended a small amount of time after the Golota fight.

    Sanders would brutally destroy Ortiz.

Wilder did not beat Fury. It was a draw at best.
I would favour Sam Peter and Corrie Sanders to beat Ortiz, who is 50 and his best win is Jennings.
Maybe even prime Gomez, Arreola or Solis could have beaten him.
I'm not going to mention Lewis and Byrd, since Vitaly lost to them. Even though it was by injury.

its not really any use trying to show wilder defence are acceptable by comparing him to someone with awful defences.

    Vitali's defense resume is better.

Seems we either have a few boxing noobs, or just Wilder dick riders. No way in hell is Wilder's opposition better than Vitali's.

Wilder had the best run,Vitali looked like crap against b-level opponents like Sosnowski and Charr, and the rest bunch of bums he faced...

He was close to 40 when he fought them.
Wilder looked like crap in his prime vs Molina, Shpilka and even Washington.

Aha, but he smashed them bad...Vitali was huffing and puffing after 4 rounds with Charr. And crying in his corner after the Chisora fight...

A washed up Sam Peter is Vitali's best win. The following is a list of guys who would have beaten that version of Sam Peter who was falling off balance from throwing jabs.

Usyk , Tony Bellew , Gassiev , USS Cunningham , Chisora , Daniel Dubois , Gorman, Joyce , Kowanacki , Ortiz.. Even Johann Duhaupas as he beat Helenius and Peter was star fished in brutal fashion by Helenius.

Hell , id even give Ward , GGG and Canelo a good chance of beating that Peter since an old and obese James Toney out boxed a prime Peter when they first met.

Peter isn't any better than the Stiverne that Wilder beat to win the same title so how are Vitali's title defenses so much better ?

Vitali was 40-41 y.o. then. Didn't PRIME Wilder look like a poore garbage against Molina, Duhaupas, Szpilka and Washington? Oh yes, he did

LOL, Byrd was BEYOND shot when he fought Gerge. He was as shot as Athe version of Ali that fought Holmes or version of Tyson that fought McBride

Wilder didn't beat Fury either - he got schooled losing 10 rounds of the fight to rusty and out of shape Fury.

Exactly. At times many of us are quick to criticize, but in hindsight I don't hold it against any boxer who retires on his stool, whether it be due to injury, or knowing it just isn't his night. It is a serious sport, and people do receive life changing, or life ending brain injuries. Everybody handles diversity differently. Maybe Vitali felt he couldn't handle Byrd for the remaining rounds with only one arm? I think he could have, but he knows himself better. He sure did whoop Byrd's arse in the rematch.

You have pussies on this forum calling for boxers to take their beating, or KO like a man. What type of dumb **** is that? Even had some clowns celebrate a boxer being beaten into a Coma.

Peter was 28 yo and far from washed up, and Vitali was coming from a four year inactivity because of injuries.. so it´s a good win for a 37 yo boxer.
