Oddly, it clearly stands out for you. His team talked about a Wlad fight, and Wlad's team talked about a Wilder fight, the rest of the year. They all expected it to happen the next year as they both had mandos. The quotes are everywhere. But that's the one you cling to? And you are still talking about a decade later. Weird. This whole vibe around you guys this last week or so is weird. You're even losing people who used to agree with you, you're acting so weird. Get over it already.
I know, I've seen and read them back then. But nothing stand out more than a promoter calling their so-called "Champ" a baby in need of being developed after winning a belt. You don't like it, move the f*ck on....
Well Wilder had the belt, Wlad was in retirement. Title holders don't call out challengers, it's the other way round.
Actually Wladamir tried to Unify with Stivern, Wilder refused to step aside and as usual the WBC is inconsistent when applying their rules. NAh I am calling a so called champion who repeatedly took the path of least resistance as long as possible, which to me says he is scared of losing and unwilling to attempt to be great.
Exactly when they offered to meet and go over the contract Wilder's team said no you accept the fight within 24 hours without having any information or seeing the deal. that was no real offer.
This whole fight deal at the time was full of publicity stunts and political warfare on both sides, wether they were serious we don’t know. Most serious negotiations are done behind closed doors, not on social media. It’s why I never understand people arguing about social media negotiations. Eddie Hearn is good at this, old schoolers like Finkel and arum less so. what I’m very confident on, is if Turki was around, he would have got it done. He’s neutral, pays a lot and treats people with respect.
How about the entire length of Wilders career where Wlad had the belt and Wilder was a contender? Now I never believed he deserved a shot against Wlad, and his resume wasn't worthy (I feel the same way about AJ when he got his shot too, I'm not trying to single Wilder out). I also don't expect Wilder to try to fight Wlad in a first defence, when David Lemieux won his belt I was very surprised he immediately went for unification with GGG, obviously it's not a common thing to happen. But to assume that Wilder of 2017 beats Wlad of 2017 because Wilder was the number three fighter of the inter-era period when Wlad wasn't around is a logical jump I'm not prepared to make. As stated in my original post, all due respect to you
Just because you say it or think it, doesnt make it true. All 3 have lost to lesser fighters than Wilder, both before and after they beat Wladimir….
When they have the same promoters y'all call sus. Same managers, y'all call sus. Unless Wilder's a name in the convo. Then him duck, him scared, despite him suing a man to force him to knock him out. Him duck doe. Finkel was in control. Shelly could have made that fight. Regardless of who he was protecting and who he wasn't I doubt it was Wilder or Wlad who avoided it so much as the little old man who makes money off those two. At HW Shelly needed both for as long as he could keep both in Ws. Duh. Who else did or does Shelly have? It's easier for QB to put everything behind Tyson or MR behind AJ when they do not promote, manage, or advise the unified HW champion of the world. Wilder's guy was. Deontay called Wlad out to stop Tyson from beating him to Wlad. He called Tyson out too and Peter went online to tell the world Fury's not ready for Wilder while he went and signed a fight with Wlad. Wilder also called out AJ and Martin before their fight was announced for the same reason. He then lost his belt to a KO and sued to get another KO loss. At this point I'm pretty it seems obvious the Wilder hate is racism. It's fine if you think Shel was protecting the young lion from the old lion but the one sided propaganda youse call history seems a bit much.
That's not why I pick Wilder in 2017, i pick Wilder in 2017 because he was prime and Wlad was very clearly not. And if you put a past prime boxer whose known to be chinny, in against a prime boxer whos known to be a knockout artist, it isn't that big a leap for me. Don't get me wrong, there's levels, and Wlad has been on a higher level than Wilder, but at 2017 I don't believe that was the case. Had Wlad come out of retirement to face Wilder he probably does so as the Aside fighter and he'd have had the chance to prove you right.
You know what is weird he never once fought a unification fight in 48 fights instead he hid on PBC island feasting on bums never once daring to be great.
