Could Roy outbox him the full 12 without getting caught?

Roy would hit him and make him miss for a few rounds, but Wilder doesn't even have to hit him flush to shatter his chin to pieces and that would inevitably happen at some point and Wilder has a huge height and reach advantage over Jones would make it easier to reach him, I see him hitting Jones on the way out as he's moving back out of the way, but it still KO's him

Wilder would have destroyed Roy in a couple of rounds.

Roy had the skill, experience, and mobility to beat Wilder, since Wilder has a habit of making himself too predictable, which is something Jones would take full advantage of. Also, I could see Wilder walking into a lot of Roy’s punches, but that being said if Wilder catches Roy slipping and even just clips him with a right hand Roy would be knocked out cold.

Wilder took shots from Fury that Jones couldn`t have taken for 7 rounds, Jones was knocked out by light heavyweights, Wilder would take Jones shots far better than Roy would take Wilder`s bombs, none of the shots Roy landed on Ruiz were as hard as the shots Fury hurt Wilder with. Bob Foster punched harder than Jones but when he moved up to heavyweight he was overpowered by Ali.

Interesting fight. Skill against power. Probably Wilder by 3rd round knockout.

Jones definitely doesn't hit harder than Fury

Ortiz would have destroyed Jones he`s far more powerful than Jones was, Ali stopped Foreman with shots far more powerful than Jones threw, he was robust enough to go toe to toe with Frazier. Ali could take a solid heavyweight punch and there`s no way a light heavy like Tarver could have KO`d Ali, Jones would have been destroyed by Ali.

It sounds funny, but when you meet Roy Jones in person, you're suprised at how small his head is. He is not a big person at all. No chance at all against Wilder.

Roy Jones would not hurt Wilder for a few reasons, main reason is that Jones is a natural 160-168lber and he would be punching so far up and on top of that he would be fighting on the move, he would be able to get no leverage on his punches, he would have no choice but to move

Roy is a smaller guy. More like 5'10 tall. Here's the thing. Medium level top 20-40 guys were even on the cards with Wilder, he won when he landed the bomb.

If Roy picks the terms ( He would or there would be not fight ) , I'd give him a shot a decision though I would pick Wilder in the middle to later rounds, slightly embarrassed to eventually win.
