I agree to an extent, but he should have recovered by then if he had so good chin as people claim him to have. If he had an excellent chin, he shouldn't have gone down from the shot even if he hadn't fully recovered.

two things i noted from the fight. wilder never really landed a clean shot on fury. the first knockdown was a straight punch to the forehead, yet it hurt fury pretty badly. a bit later fury blocked a wilder right with his elbow, his whole elbow not his glove, yet it shook up fury. he didnt go down but he was definitely hurt. you could hear the thud. i dont know if this means wilders weight gain has improved his power, fury's chin has deteoriated or wilder has always had shocking power. i do believe that wilder could, and rather easily at that, hurt dempsey and finish him off.

the other thing i noted was wilder had the strangest reaction to fury's left hook. every time and i mean EVERY time fury landed a left hook wilder would repeat this slow staggering backwards motion. it was so bizarre to see. it was like a canned animation from street fighter or something where an enemy character performs the exact same routine whenever he gets punched or kicked. wilder never really had very steady legs but this was something else, and only with the left hook as well. again i dont know if he was attempting to bait in fury but if he has that kind of reaction to the sloppy mess fury calls his left hook, i shudder to think what a dempsey left would do to wilder.

All true, but eventually they did fight Johnson.

If they wanted the title what other choice did they have ? Neither defended against a black fighter and I don't think Willard ever met one!

Dempsey. Non defensive taller fighters were his specialty. See Willard, and Fulton. Wilder's has a punchers chance.

Wilder all day, every day. Dempsey would get ko’d quickly. Not big enough.

Chin and recovery are two different things. Fury quite clearly has a good chin. You cannot fight wilder 3x and never get kod without having a good chin. It's not like he's some sort of defensive wizard.

Wilder is a very explosive puncher and shots that don't look that hard are probably a lot harder than you think. Fury also didn't see them coming which makes the damage worse. Fury barely had time to recover and then got dropped again. The fact he ended up winning the fight is a testament to his toughness. I don't see many boxers aside from maybe Ali, Foreman, Holyfield, or Bowe getting up from two back to back knockdowns from wilder.

Those men sucked bigtime skillwise and were slow. Not saying Wilder is a master boxer, far from it, but he's still a million times better than someone like Willard, given he hits way harder and he's very very fast.

What makes you think that Dempsey struggled with big fighters?

I see your point and I think I can agree with you on this. I believe Frazier and possibly Marciano (not sure) would rise up from back to back knockdowns from Wilder though, but I respect your opinion. I'm glad to see things from different perspective now and I think this debate is settled.

No Wilder would kick the $hit out of him even if Dempsey wasn't a racist.

You seem to be implying that Dempsey would do better is he was not a racist.
