What else is he going to do except get decapitated? Not like Helenius is a slickster that could outbox anyone for tweleve. Wilder has only two first round knock outs in the last five years and his chin is a question mark after three consecutive beatings.
Agreed and I would just like to add that this one of the countless reasons why boxing was so much greater back in the old rose-tinted past. Today, you have so many OLD guys up high in the 'rankings' & fighting for 'titles', it's pathetic. I have heard these types of statements many times in the last 20 years or so. Things like "so and so should retire if they don't win this 'title' fight" LMFAO boxing is truly almost dead. What does 'come a cropper' mean, never heard that expression?
Good comeback fight for Wilder. I don't rate Helenius unlike some of the lot on here (you know who you are). Glad he's back.
Dunno why everybody is dismissing Helenius chances in this fight. Wilder is coming off a long layoff and two consecutive very damaging stoppage losses.
Helenius is coming off an equally long lay off, is even older than Wilder at 38 and has been KO'ed by two fighters, Wilder has KO'ed and is only getting some praise of late for two wins over Kownacki who is nothing like Wilder. It' a solid come back fight for Wilder, not without some risk as Helenius can punch, but Helenius is an underdog for a reason. He fights tall and from range which suits Wilder's style, doesn't move his head and is open to right hands due to his low left hand, as we saw when both Duhaupas and Washington KO'ed him with right hands. Wilder has a far better right hand than either of them, once Wilder lands, it's over.
