It would be like the Bowe fights and the stuff that worked in those fights would work for Holy v Wilder, the reach would be a problem though.
But Wilder isn't a good as Bowe so i dont really see how they could resemble those fights. Also , Holy was slipping at that point and wasn't nearly as good as he was in 92. Bowe would have done in 96 Holy worse than he did the 95 verson
Holyfield was very good against taller guys and with a guy so wild and wide with his punches, it would have only been a matter of time before holy field would of dropped and stopped Wilder with a short shot imo. Would have loved to have seen him fight Akinwande back in 97 doe.
May aswell do a post for Stiverne vs Holyfield or Charles Martin vs Holyfield cause in reality, they have also achieved as much as Wilder has in boxing.
Well technically he won an Olympic bronze medal and they didn't*. But otherwise you're right. (*although Stiverne claims he was robbed of a shot at the Athens Games; he fought this Mexican dude, George "El Torito" Garcia in the qualifiers: http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/261591 - Garcia was knocked down thrice but still got the nod and took what Stiverne viewed as his rightful berth via robbery)
Stiverne is done, stick a fork in him! Bowe was a totally superior fighter than Wilder by the way...............at least before Golota ended his career!
Yeah, and against Bowe, it was a mistake for Holyfield to brawl on the inside (where he absorbed a ton of uppercuts and hooks), but he benefited from boxing, moving, and jabbing from outside. Against Wilder, I think Holyfield would be better off inside, and worse off outside.
