You can't be referring to Jersey Joe Walcott. Wilder wouldn't fight him. He'd gladly fight Jersey Joe the Waste man or some other random Jersey bum. This is a ret@rd that was actually involved in a fight with Charlie Zelenoff and avoids all real challenges.
Walcott has a chance of outboxing from range but I wouldn't be surprised if Wilder had quicker hands and negated the work from the outside. Walcott showboats too much when he's winning and I don't think that will end well for him. Wilder is a better athlete, bigger, rangier and harder hitting than Jersey. I pick Wilder in this one.
These Wilder vs A.N. Other from boxing's history threads are getting a little samey tbh. Just assume most of us think he would lose most of the time and move on to something more interesting like how many granules of sugar are there in a Mcdonald's sachet or what's heavier a feather or the moon?
