Joshua will beat him. Ortiz was selected for a reason. He had to get inside on wilder. Wilder a one trick pony...he's actually just a spoiler as a boxer at that level. Made Ortiz lead...using the height/reach advantage. Ready to walk him on to the right hand. That's all hes got. Its a difficult thing to fight against as the smaller man.

Wilder won't get away with them tactics against Joshua...Joshua will hurt him on the outside before going in on him. Better boxer. Doesnt need to go inside with him. Wilder wont know what to do. Always got that chance because joshuas shuts down after a big shot...and wilders got that big shot. But think he,ll take wilder out within six rounds. Better allround fighter...and isn,t giving any advantages away.

Great win for wilder last night tho. Ortiz for me the most skilled man in that division. He very nearly did break down the difficult tactics wilder employed. Good step up for wilder but ortiz was picked for a reason.

I’m not a fan of the heavyweight division, apart from a handful of boxers, skill wise it’s seriously lacking. The emphasis moves away from skill and more towards power.

Hence, it doesn’t really matter that Wilder is a sloppy fighter. At some point in them 36 minutes he will land big. He’s light, carrying little excess muscle and is very fluid in his movement. He invites pressure with his low guard and defends with his feet which imo is exhausting for his opponent. They get complacent with their success.

I think he’s the most dangerous heavyweight on the planet. Joshua, despite having much better fundamentals would end up blowing out of his backside trying to put him away. As much as I admire AJ, he enjoys a fight too much and that would be dangerous against Wilder.

    The outcome is quite simple.

Whoever lands the bomb first wins and I see it as 50/50.

Both have weak defences, vulnerable chins and both wide open when on the attack.

The other rounds Ortiz won were closer yes but he won them.

Are you giving Deontay any of rounds 1-4? Ortiz was also winning round 5 until he got caught and knocked down.

I scored most rounds level as Ortiz was walking forward but throwing nothing.

Come on Jurgen, ortiz won the first four rounds without question. The only rounds wilder won were 5, 6 and obviously 10.

I’m not sure wilder beats Whyte.

Wilder got schooled by a 40 year old who was giving up height and reach, power bailed him out, he won't get lucky like that against AJ.

Wilder is awful skill wise, I don't think anyone debates that. But he throws everything into those bombs. Joshua doesn't have great head movement and you cannot block those bombs Wilder throws, so it makes things really interesting.

Similar to what a lot of people have been saying, if Joshua doesn't put him away in 4 rounds I think he's in trouble, Wilder will start milling and he will land something

50/50 fight... hopefully could be a Hagler v Hearns type war

That was an entertaining fight. The Wilder fella - a poor boxer with no fundamentals. But he's an extraordinary athlete with dynamite in his hands and he proved he's a tough man last night. He'll buckle AJ if he catches him. But if AJ catches him he could finish him too. It's a great fight. Ortiz was very good, better than anything AJ has faced outside Klitschko. Great experience for Wilder.

AJ v Wilder is a shootout. I don't rate AJ as a boxer but he is a better boxer than Wilder. However, do we really believe AJ is going to box Wilder? Once Wilder calls tor a shootout, AJ will accept the challenge and we're in for a Hagler/Hearns type shootout as someone mentioned. I'm leaning towards Wilder because he's got that one punch KO power. Two heavily flawed fighters though.

With each passing heavyweight title it's obvious Fury is the most complete heavyweight by a country mile. The rest are all heavily flawed.

Assuming AJ beats Parker then the negotiations for the Wilder fight will no doubt take place . I know the sticking point is supposedly percentages ? That aside Hearn knows that stylistically Wilder is a extremely difficult fight for AJ . Despite Wilder not being a text book boxer he seems to have a better chin and stamina than AJ and coupled with that right hand makes him very dangerous. AJ might be making technical improvements but chin and to some degree stamina are usually attributed to genetics .

AJ needs to get him out of there early.

Hearn and Matchroom have positioned themselves beautifully for the duck.

Really like AJ but Wilder just has this for me as I don’t think he would employ same tactics for AJ than he did for Ortiz. I really think AJ is powerful enough to stop Wilder but I think he’s not quick enough and that methodical straight punching won’t get the job done. Can see Wilder connecting the first big shot of the fight then pouncing like a maniac for the finish. All said and done though two good fighters at the top of their game in the HW division so there is no one on this planet that would put their house on the result.
