I agree. Would love to see a fit Fury fight Wilder as no fight would have such a contrast in style. Fury out boxing him outclassing him throughout with everyone still sitting on the edge of their seat as they know at any second Wilder could win it with one big shot (not saying he would necessarly land the big shot but that's what would make it so interesting, will he won't he).

 

It’s not all that matters when you’re talking about Wilder versus AJ...personally I felt those scorecards were dodgy...Wilder has been outboxed by guys AJ would put away with ease, that’s the point...yes his power has bailed him out every time but it won’t against a top class heavyweight in his prime...

I don’t think AJ is the second coming, but he can box and is better than anyone else around by some distance, other than Fury...

Fury would win every second of every round v Wilder. But we all know Wilder only needs one punch to win a fight. There's not man on the planet he can't stun if he lands clean. I'd fancy Fury to beat him eight times out of ten.

I just don’t think it really matters if it’s Jason Gavern or Anthony Joshua. One little slip of concentration and Wilder will spark them clean out. He showed against Ortiz that he’s got a very good chin and a lot of heart.

Buncey was on about in the bbc podcast, when he steps back or to the side, he’s so tall he suddenly ends up 6 foot+ out of range. He has very fast feet. That’s why he lets his hands hang low, he defends with his feet and is always ready to throw the huge shot. Personally, I find him awful to watch, but he’s without doubt in my mind the most dangerous heavyweight on the planet.

 

Do you not think this applies to AJ too? If he lands clean on you you’re going out too.

 

Yes. Joshua’s big shots are built around a framework of methodical boxing skills, where he’s working behind the jab, and then he starts throwing that big straight right. There’s a rhythm, and build up of pressure. Punishing his opponent, really turning the screw....it’s systematic and brutal.

Wilder, one big right hand, game over.

Wilder is very dangerous. I just think Joshua is very dangerous too. If that was Joshua landing the other night and not Ortiz then it was game over IMO.

 

Fury would toy with Wilder easily. Joshua will knock Wilder out, but just read it will be years before Wilder fights Joshua if ever............

 

Yeah I understand what you’re saying, it creates variety, gives the casual fans that buzz of the unorthodox guy with insane KO power and maybe it would inspire people of the same stature in size with athletic ability to try boxing. I just come from a very skill, technique and craft view of things, I’m only 26 but I remember my dad used to have Eubank snr and Barry Mcguigan fights on VHS, and from a young age I would see the technical craft of some of the great British and Irish fighters, and over the years I’ve seen the great classic bouts so I just meant to convey that Wilder very much goes against the grain as to what I behold as Boxing. I mean if it draws people to each that’s great, Boxing is such a great sport when it’s at its best and maybe I will come round to his style but it’s not one I hold in high regard coming from what I’m used to. But I agree with your view on it and that’s what I like Boxing and this forum very different opinions. So thanks for replying it’s nice to have another persons perspective

 

That’s what I was saying, the greats and those new breed of boxers who actually box and get the great KO’s and wins, but I agree sometimes it can be like a chess match and two opponents are evenly matched (or in some cases the judges don’t know boxing or it’s a fiddle) and then it becomes more frustrating when you want to see two fighters throw caution to the wind and throw down till somebody doesn’t get back up, i appreciate wilders tenacity and desire to get through Ortiz but it doesn’t impress/ does impress me that he has hardly any boxing IQ/Ring craft yet he can get to a point where he just goes for it and launches those right hand assaults and gets the job done. He’s a crazy SOB for sure like you said sometimes the strange way does work ! Thanks mate
