Back then it was mooted fights like jones vs calzaghe etc

The americans were the $$$ men and the fights didnt get made because the brits wouldnt take the small money and got accused of ducking

I feel the same situation is going to pan out here. Hearns isnt going to give wilder 50/50 just for being american like some of his fans seem to think he's entitled to.

Egos will get in the way of this fight being made and both will get beat by some random before it happens

The fight will probably happen. Hopefully next. Right now it just seems like a bunch of posturing and PR games.

Jones and Calzaghe weren’t competing in the same division at the same time. Jones was at 175 when Calzaghe first won a title at 168. Hopkins-Calzaghe was supposed to happen around 2002-03 on Showtime, but Hopkins didn’t sign the contract with showtime because he didn’t like how much Don King was going to keep for his cuts.

Bowe-Lewis was the fight that should have happened. Bowe and his camp pulled out of their agreement to fight the Lewis-Ruddock winner. HBO offered Bowe a multi-fight contract, so Bowe and Newman signed with them, getting millions against overmatched opposition, much easier opponents than the guy who defeated Bowe in the Olympics. HBO would be criticized later for offering this type of deal to RJJ. Newman also had major beef with the WBC.

Regardless of this, I still think they were eventually going to fight in 1994-95. But Bowe lost to Holyfield and then Lewis lost to McCall. That’s why I don’t want to see this fight “marinate” any more. I’m worried Wilder or Joshua will get upset in the meantime

Wilder will not fight Joshua next, he does not want that fight. Wilder will fight Breazeale next becasue Haymon owns him, he can't fight at all, and was knocked out by Joshua! Joshua will fight Povetkin, Miller next, but a new report is out that Vlad might fight a rematch with him, hope so. I wish Vlad would go ahead and knock Wilder out, but Wilder will not fight him......................

Vlad has never had a bad chin. I have seen him take huge punches and keep going. He got knocked down by Joshua, got up and won the rest of the round, in the next round he knocked Joshua down, had him drunk, helpless on the ropes, Joshua was a done fighter until the 11th round. Vlad would have knocked Joshua out if Vitali had not given him bad advice to not finish Joshua off, just boxing him..................he was so close to winning. You don't have championship for so many years and so many titles with an egg chin....................anyone can get knocked out, Lewis was knocked out by Oliver McCall and Rahman, Joe Louis was knocked out, Tyson, Bowe, you name it............................Vlad beat Wilder from one side of the ring to the other is camp, knocked Wilder down with a left jab, flattened him with a left hook, it was no contest! And yes, there were witnesses!!! I have seen all of Vitali and Vlad's fights. I saw Vlad win the gold medal in Atlanta, GA, he was a great champion!!!!!!! Vitali has never even come near being knocked down, he has one of the best chins in boxing history!!!!!!!
