Hearn doesn't want to risk his biggest ever cash cow as he knows he's vulnerable. He was absolutely bricking it when Joshua fought Wlad and he doesn't want to put through another scare.
So tell me how did they manage to sell Breazelle, Molina and Takum as Ppv fights yet will find it tough to sell Wilder? Or are the aforementioned bigger names?
40 year old Wladimir's jab was not the same as it was. His jab was completely gone by the Jennings fight, what, 2.5-3 years prior to facing Joshua. Wladimir barely threw a single jab once the calendar turned 2015. He flicked them like Devon Alexander did when moving in, except Wladimir was never moving in when he flicked them.
Then guarentee him the AJ fight afterwards, should he beat Whyte. Wilder is probably thinking right now "if I smashed Whyte early, no way would Hearn let me anywhere near his cashcow". Erase the question marks. And let's not pretend like Whyte would be a massive step up for Wilder or anything. He's hardly any more of a legitimate challenger than Breazeale would be.
Shhhhhh! You can't say anything smart on this forum. You will be called a "stupid poster" and the conversation will revert to berating your posting history and/or previous opinions. And how, like, your opinion is totally inferior to their expert one.
AJ has already established his name in the UK and he's being shown on Showtime as well. AJ is a PPV star already, Wilder is not. Will the US fan base come out in their numbers to buy Wilder vs Joshua? They will a tiny bit because Wilder's not well known, if he disposes of Whyte in spectacular fashion that will help him establish himself not only in the UK market but the US one as well. Hearn wants to make this fight as BIG, as possible, that's why he wants Wilder to fight Whyte. Like right now Eddie is probably thinking Wilder vs AJ does between 1.5-2 million PPV buys, if Wilder knocks out Whyte in brutal fashion those numbers will break 2 million easy. That's all this is about, PPV numbers.
Whyte is a MUCH bigger name than Breazeale. FOTY contender with Chisora on his resume, almost getting AJ out there. Whyte is already established. Whyte vs AJ 2 sells lot more PPV buys than Breazeale vs AJ 2. That's not even up for debate.
I don't really care which one is known by more people. As far as boxing goes, they're on a similar level. And, like I said, if Hearn really wants Wilder against Whyte, he needs to guarentee him the AJ fight after that.
Whyte this/ Whyte that . Who cares about Whyte?? He just fought a dull fight with a shot to bits Helenius. Couldn't even put a hurting on him. That pastry chef Wilder knocked out blew Helenius away. Wilder is well known in the UK despite what his haters claim. A clash with Joshua does massive numbers on SBO.
They are on a similar level in boxing talent, but boxing is a business so boxers "brands" do count whether you like it or not. Hearn is probably not signing any definite dates with Wilder's team because of mandatories and the bigger, potential fight with Fury in the Summer.
I'm losing confidence in AJ's chances of walking through Wilder. I think i'm one of the ones that's been falling for the hype. Listening to Chisora the other day got me thinking. Wilders got a terrible technique, but he commits to that right hand BIGTIME and its got KO for anyone written all over it. AJ's a big lump, but he has to get you with a combo to do damage majority of the time, hes not a 1 punch man like many before him and Wilder
Wilder is well known in the UK, he's not broken the US market and he won't till he starts beating legit top ten contenders. WHYTE, is a top ten contender and a come forward pressure fighter who would give anybody in the top ten a good fight. Wilder has more dull fights against legit bums than Whyte does by the way.
Hes not well known at all. Or if he is know ones bothered. Pretty much like it is in America with him. 1.4 million for an American world heavyweight champ is evidence of this ! Plus I don't hate him and many don't. They don't know him to hate him hes that insignificant. Fight a few UK fighters or atleast 1 and that wage against AJ is gonna sky rocket
Unification trumps mandatory. And don't fool yourself, Fury won't be ready for a fight like that for a year. No reason not to guarentee the Joshua/Wilder fight for the next summer.(Though I prefer if It happened in march/april)
